Thanks everyone, will try to hold out until the sales for the winter village sets, I, too am mentally building them and they would look lovely on the mantlepiece at crimble!
I want them for myself, my girls are only 4 and 5 but they could "help" build them I suppose, mind you in a year's time their "help" would be more constructive.
I'm almost at a loose end now I have all the friends sets stashed in the spare bedroom wardrobe and my attentions have now turned to the winter village. I am also fancying the haunted house but its a bit extravagant so might look out for it cheaper after halloween.
I think come Christmas and my daughters birthday in January I'll be more excited than the kids to build the friends sets. I'm really looking forward to getting the advents out too.
Has anyone been to the new lego shop at Meadowhall? I normally avoid Meadowhall like the plague but am thinking of taking the kids to the lego shop in the school hols if its worth going.
Fizzyfish - I've seen the 2013 Friends list too and am looking forward to seeing photos and bargain hunting when they're released.0 -

It really is lovely- those old boarded up windows:happyhear:happyhear
...They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.0 -
I too love it, but hate to sound like a damp squib - isn't it part of the monster fighters range???
I'm a bit like s-mum in that I'm expectantantly looking at brown boxes, knowing it is full of friends waiting to be built
either way something has to give with those beastly turtles on the way...hopefully that means reductions on other things I like:)

I'm so pleased, I managed to get the Lego Friends Cafe for £5 at a car boot sale this morning! Have just sat and built it to check it's complete and every bit is there:j:D
Trouble is now I want to get some more from the range, as I love all the pretty colours. I'm so use to all the more boy type ranges (star wars, city etc) as my two boys are 6 & 8 and DD (2) is not old enough for actual Lego yet, so it's nice to have something a bit different.
Will be keeping an eye out on here for an Lego Friends bargains0 -
I'm looking for a decent box of bricks to build freely with. I will be buying it from here since I have a voucher for £10. Does anything on there catch your eye lego experts? Thank you for reading.
From this particular shop:
Lego 6161 £9.99 - Very bad, very basic set, 221 basic pieces.
Lego 4626 £9.99 - Very good budget set with 232 pieces inc Farmer Minifigure, Enough pieces to build a tractor and the invaluable Lego brick separator tool (Worth £1.99). Bad points, not enough Lego.
Lego 5489 £24.99 - An old Argos exclusive set with 670 pieces inc 1 Minfigure, lots of wheels, car parts and a pull back friction motor, Especially good for little boys (or girls) who like building Lego cars.
Personally for general building purposes, The £20 Lego Duluxe set from Very.co.uk is unbeatable.
Lego 5508 £20.00 - 700+ pieces of bricks, windows, doors, wheels etc. 2 minifigures, brick separator tool and a large green base plate.0 -

Re Lego friends playmat - I've not seen one and I am a big fan of the friends theme but that doesn't mean that one doesn't exist or is in the pipeline. If you do see one let us know because I would like one too.0

If going from Smythes, I would go for 5508. The Lego site generally has good honest reviews of the boxes too http://shop.lego.com/en-GB/LEGO-Deluxe-Brick-Box-55080
