Consumer rights give you the right to cancel an order within seven days and get your money back...but made to order means you lose that right.

So from a legal point i think your pretty much at the mercy of the seller and they would be well within their rights to not give you a penny back if you now decide to change your mind.
What exactly is the item though? Could it not be sold on ...ebay, local rag etc.

You usually have seven working days to cancel your order and ask for your money back if you buy something:- online
- over the phone
- by mail order (eg from a catalogue)
- on your doorstep (eg when a salesman visits your home)
