This is probably a long-shot but I'm hoping someone might be able to help!
I had broadband from Tiscali in 2005, a year later we moved house but there was a month's gap between moving out of our old house & into the new one so we stayed with my mother-in-law
and transferred the broadband to her house & then onto our new one when we moved in.
This all seemed ok at the time, although Tiscali were very slow but we were connected eventually.
My MIL has never had broadband herself but has now decided she would like it with BT :eek: So we went online to apply but BT couldn't set it up as there is a "tag" on her line from Tiscali.
Over the past few days we have spoken to BT & Tiscali / TalkTalk who both blame each other & BT are saying they can't remove the tag without a MAC code, but there is no broadband to transfer so it's impossible to get a MAC code! Tiscali say they have no record of her phone number or address so they can't do anything!
We are now at a loss as to what to do next. Help

BT can remove the tags off the line without a MAC code,but it will take longer than normal,They have a specific department who do this iirc,as when I worked for Sky BBand tier2,we had to refer customers to them all the time for the same reason as yours.0
