Motorola defy cracked screen
Options
Is there any way we can fight Motorola for their advertised gorilla glass. They advertise that it is scratch resistend, resistant to the occasional bump and drop. So, I dropped my defy by accident about 1/2 meter on to a solid surface and the touch screen cracked, of course it's not covered by the warranty and it cost me £30 (insurance access and postage) to get it fixed. But the warranty covers their water resistance. Shouln't they warranty all their advertised claims?:(

You can try accusing them of faulse advertising, but this has nothing to do with the warranty that doesn't cover any accidental damage.
Having said that, when they say "occasional bump" they don't specify any physical parameters of this 'test'. And even if they did, you'd be unable to prove that your screen was broken without exceeding these parameters.0 -
From what I read, it has scratch resistant glass, handset is probabaly slightly water resistant, but I have never seen a handset advertised as fool proof, if the majorty of users manage to not drop their phone accidently, I think this is one time I would say follow the majority0

as far as i am aware gorilla glass is scratch resistant and not shatter proof.
There is a new samsung smartphone being launched that is tougher http://www.mobiletoday.co.uk/News/12362/Samsung_unveils_waterproof_Galaxy_Xcover_smartphone.aspx But dont know if even this is just gorilla glass too as looks like just scratch resistant and not shatter resistant.bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

E.g.: "...a high-strength ... thin sheet glass used as a protective cover glass offering scratch resistance and durability..."
