Organic shopping in Tesco's

Dear All,
I am so infuriated by the way Tesco's now mixes all the organic food, fruit and veg as well as groceries in with all the rest. I have written to complain and had only the party line back from my local and head office. All the staff in the supermarket I use - (Inverness, the largest in the Uk I understand) agree it is very inconvenient and I am sure they are doing it in the hopes that if there is no organic product we will by a non organic one. My shopping now takes a half hour longer and my blood pressure rises so much I give up and stop looking.
They had hundreds of complaints my branch customer services told me, but they also said it was not going to change. The thing is I buy less I think, because I don't actually know what there is and it is so much more difficult to find.
Are there any others out there who agree and can we send a concerted message to Tesco high command?

I agree, and I said so on the provided feedback forms when they rolled this out.
On the bottom of the feedback forms was a 50p voucher for organic veg - valid for 3 months, so I took about 50 of those feedback forms
Maybe we could start an online petetion.0 -
That would be brilliant! Anything that would make them see sense - after all the 'wheatfree' stuff of all types is together as is the exotic or Indian food, why not organic?
PS Wow! I was only offered the back of an envelope to give my feedback, before I decided to write a letter!0 -
But are they putting the organic and non-organic foods of the same type next to each other? They have been keeping the organic products separate to prevent you easily seeing the price difference between, for example, organic and non-organic beans.
I suspect that they have now worked out that if they mix the organic and non-organic, but make sure they keep the same type separate from each other, so the organic beans are between the non-organic courgettes and non-organic cabbages, then they keep that price mystery, but get people buying the organic products by mistake.0 -

No they are putting like besides like, God knows why because all the organic shoppers preferred it when all the organic stuff was all in one place. If it was like you suggested we'd never find anything.0 -
I prefer Organics to be among the usual assortment. I don't exclusively buy organic, I like to see what choices I have and not have to seek out the organic section. I'm sure they will sell more organic products this way as people will realise just what products have an organic alternative.
Tesco is quite a poor supermarket for organics anyway, most of it is imported when it really doesn't need to be so the extra food miles wipe out any environmental benefits.0 -
people like me are just ordering bigger organic boxes from riverford. I can`t be bothered with the hastle of walking here there and everywhere in tescos. I used to top up from tescos but would rather support uk organic farmers instead
if you want good organic food with free delivery over £35 then try
https://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk
eg organic golden flaxseed £7.60 for 3 kg works out at £1.27 for 500g
non-organic golden linseed from tesco £5.59 for only 500g
tescos is a rip off if you don`t do your homework re organics0 -
I dont mind the layout. I have to give the children, and us, lots of fruit and veg, so if there isn't a certain item in Organic, I dont have to scour the store trying to locate thealternative.
What riles me is the lack of special offers on Organic.0 -

I think I will look into getting some bits delivered instead, Tesco shopping really is lazy, and expensive. Our weekly bill since we started buying organic tops £110 some weeks!!0 -
We buy organic - and use Tesco a lot.
I agree, the stores that have combined their organic and non-organic rangess are very difficult to shop, but I think it must be a store-level decision in some part at least as some of my local branches still have many items shelved together.
It annoyed me more that in the 'organic fortnight' when they were supposed to be promoting organic foods, they actually discontinued several of the more commercial lines (such as the Envirokids cereals) that would probably have gained more attention and got more people thinking about organic products.DFW Nerd no. 884 - Proud to [strike]be dealing with[/strike] have dealt with my debts0
