Sorry but I too think it should be cat owner's responsibility to make sure their cats do not cause nuisance (of any sort) to their neighbours - and it comes from someone who has 6 cats herself.

    Simple:

    http://www.mycatfence.co.uk/photos.php

    and many others.

Easy, cat climbs tree, cat jumps over the rolling thing. First glance it looked quite good, and then I actually thought about it. I would like something to keep my cats in as I don't like cats near roads but that won't do it.

Why should people who do not keep cats have to spend money to cat proof THEIR gardens to stop other cats coming in and crapping there?

Because there are lots of cats and you are not going to get every owner to build one of these. Therefore, you want the cat out, you make it undesirable for them. Also it isn't just cats that crap in gardens, there are foxes. Which brings me on to my next point. Say I installed on of the above fence things. Looks like animals can come in but they can't get out. So what happens when another cat (or fox) jumps in and then gets stuck. I let my cats out in the morning and the cat can't escape and is in my cat's territory. Not good.

Seriously - I love cats, ALL cats BUT lets be reasonable and decent here.

What will you do when someone gets fed up toa point of hurting your cat?

    As I said, illegal.

Yes, some of my cats do go out but I have never had any complaints from anyone around here and everyone knows they are my cats so could easily tell me if there wa a problem.

All my cats pee/poo indoors wher I clean up after them - they are MY pets and my responsibility.

If I ever get a complaint - I will deal with it accordingly.

    Everyone else should do.

    Rant over.. sighhhh

    Hello,

I am sick of cat mess in my garden and think it's about time that cat owners are made responsible for it. Please sign this petition for cat owners for be subject to the same laws as dog owners and help the millions of people who suffer from cats fouling in their gardens.

    thanks

Well I already have a house cat.
Its a shame that people are afraid to let their cats out anymore for fear they will come across someone who is so garden obsessed that their animals life could be in danger.

    Ill sign.

Ill be honest I dont like cats, I dont want a cat, therefore I shouldnt have to clean up after one, im not garden obsessed but I would like to be able to walk round my garden without standing in cat sh*t, or having to go round cleaning it up before my kids can go play out.

If you want a cat, have a cat then you should take responsibility for it, why should neighbours who dont own them have to clean up after them or pay out to deter them from the garden.

gettingready - more cat owners should be like you.

My neighbour is one that thinks as long as her cat isnt doing its business in her garden shes not bothered, would be a completely different story if I owned a dog and it got into her garden and did its business though wouldn't it.

I dont care what right cats have, owners should take responsibility for them.

If you don't have cat poo you most likely will have rat and mouse droppings. Just not as easy to see. I have 2 cats and they both go out. I used to give my neighbours a repellent spray, but found these weren't much good. In the interests of good relations with my neighbours i now have litter trays in my garage, and we have made sure they can access them at all times. It works well.
