Geek Squad Insurance Claim rejected - Help
Options
Hello everyone, I need help BAD.
Ok So I have just taken out a 24 month contract with orange, and have been with geek squad for the last 2 years (with my old phone) and now with my new phone.
I have Had my HTC sensation for a month, and 2 days ago left it on my car roof and drove on the moterway.
Stupid I know, How did I do it? I was trying to get the dog in the hosue and just forgot.
My claim has been rejected. Is there anything I can do?

What grounds are they using for rejecting the claim ???It's not just about the money0
-
On the fact I left it on top of my car and its not covered.
Its stupid, Its not like I deliberately left it there.
And anyway It either came off in the road and got run over or someone has found it and taken it0 -
No ...I know what happened ...I'm asking what the clause in the policy is that they are using to reject it ...they should have told you this or written to you what the rejection is based on.It's not just about the money0

rejected
resulting from your product being left on the roof, bonnet, boot or other exterior part of any motor vehicle
thats what they said on the phone0 -
Does it say in the policy that if you leave your phone on the roof, bonnet, boot or other exterior part of any motor vehicle it's not covered.
If it says that in the policy then you cannot argue a case
However ....I would be very surprised if it does say that, so you need to write to them and ask them which clause they are using to reject your claim.
When they reply post it on here and we will have a look at it
Make sure you do it in writing or email so that you have the reason on record in case you can dispute itIt's not just about the money0 -
Ok thanks, will do0

It actually does say in my policy if you leave your phone on the roof, bonnet, boot or other exterior part of any motor vehicle it's not covered.
In that case is there anyway I can get out of my phone contract with orange?0 -
If thats what it says then you are in a no win situation.
No you can't get out of the contract ...thats an airtime contract that has nothing to do with the lost phone ...they will provide you with a replacement sim and you can put that in another phone and carry on using the service. It's not just about the money0 -
No way I'm afraid. Orange have nothing to do with your insurance and it wasn't their fault that you lost the phone.
It's no that I advocate insurance fraud, but if the insurance covers lost I would have reported it lost to the police and told the insurer that I lost the phone.
Now it's too late.0 -
I didn't even know I was going to have an issue.
I would of done the same if I had known.0
