Er no, it's going to save them a ton of money! It would have cost them hundreds of thousands of pounds if people only ordered a 20p pencil sharpener and got free delivery and chocolates.
"hundreds of thousands of pounds"
erm... how many people do you think are buying them to warrent £100,000+ of expense0 -
I think you'd be surprised ...0

drivers wages, diesel, the cost of the chocolates (they mayget them cheap but not free) there are hundreds of members on this forum, HDUK not to mention the lurkers. You'd be surprised at how it all adds up!0

How much are Paypal fees for a business?
For those who paid 23p by paypal how much did Viking actually get? (21p if they are signed up for PP micropayments or 2p:eek: if not)
It's only a game

Yes it will have cost them a fair bit - there have been nearly 35000 views of this thread alone - not to mention the HDUK site and others.
If all those views ordered the free chocs with free del - and if the chocs were, say, £2 costprice (Tesco etc sell 'em at about £5) and the normal delivery charge (2.90) has little profit for them, so maybe costs them another £2 plus, that's a cost to viking of at least £4 (chocs + del costs) per order - so, with 35000 orders that's £140000 on my reckoning. But they would have lots of new customers on their database.
Not all views = orders of course - but some views = lots of orders (see posts above about people getting 12 plus orders in). So it should definitely add up to £100,000s especially when you take all the sites this is being promoted on into account...0 -
Got a feeling viking never were going to do a delivery code this weekend and TCB has just assumed that there would be a code and put up the most obvious, any company with any sense would have either stop free delivery (which seems to be the case) or put a minimum spend value. On other forums people are getting angry about it, but whats to get angry about if it happened it happened and fantastic. It's still a fantastic deal, especially if you need something and can combine it with the other freebie offers on the site.0

I'm annoyed by this!
I was actually going to buy about £15 worth of stuff as well as the chocolates, might put me off viking for a while if this doesn't get sorted.0
