Problem with new Asus laptop

Runs Windows 7 Professional Edition 64-bit
On entering the Control Panel this gives the message
<ISP> Setting Tool
Resourse file <C_SpURsD11> not found
Googling makes me think this is a registry problem any advice as to what this means or what to do.
I have tried a system restore to date of purchase.

Thanks for the suggestuin but I am worried that there is no Microsoft recommended regisrtry cleaner for windows 7 and if I choose a free one at random I may do more damage.0

Aaah probably not making myself clear , I was asking if you had, because some do create more problems . Have you got the 7-Pro disk available or is it a OEM version with a recovery disk/partition ?4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . It may help if you post a log of what is running , download Hijackthis, when it gives you an Icon press and hold shift, and right click and select run as administrator, then scan and create a logfile. It only takes seconds . This may point to what could be the problem. http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/hijackthis/HiJackThis.msi4.8kWp 12x400W Longhi 9.6 kWh battery Giv-hy 5.0 Inverter, WSW facing Essex . A few more options here. Take a deep breath first;)

The reason DCM asked about the registry cleaner, is that a certain registry string called 'c_spursdll' will have been deleted from the registry - and this kind of problem is usually because of an overzealous registry cleaner.
If it's saying C_spursDLL then the filename itself may contrain *spurs*, and will be a .dll file.
A google of that suggests it's part of Infineon TPM:
http://www.infineon.com/cms/en/product/chip-card-and-security-ics/embedded-security/trusted-computing/trusted-platform-module-tpm1.2-pc/channel.html?channel=ff80808112ab681d0112ab6921ae011f
Asus use the same software:
http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/63565-can-someone-explain-tpm-feature-asus-notebooks.html
You could try running a System Restore to an earlier point and see if that fixes it. If it's very new, then restoring to factory defaults after backing anything up will fix it too.
Otherwise you'd have to use regedit, but first find the *spurs* DLL file (e.g. IfxSpURs%s.dll). Could be in c:\program files\ or c:\program files (x86).
The registry key is here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Infineon\TPM Software
make a new string: C_SpURsDll
and the string would just point to the file, e.g. "c:\program files\Infineon\IfxSpURs%s.dll"
note: it doesn't necessarily have to be either of those two filenames, but the string name (c_spursDLL) often relates to the DLL.0 -
If anyone else gets this kind of problem (because of a Registry Cleaner), then the even simpler solution is to reverse the changes using the same registry cleaner - assuming it's made a backup of its changes.
DCM: Thanks, didn't spot that you'd said that she'd restored to defaultsHad reposted to make it look cleaner, as I kept editing the post each time I found something new.

THanks for the responses. Haven't used a registry cleaner. Will try some of the suggestions and report back0

Don't see why the registry entry would be missing or the file if you've used the factory restore image, as you'd expect all Asus owners complaining of this problem.
If restoring to defaults didn't fix it, then that's pretty strange. Might have to find where to reinstall the Infineon TPM software - try Asus support or Infineon themselves.0
