Gingerbread - anyone a member?

Hi
I just applied to gingerbread and am gonna go to the local group they have set up in my area, i was jst wondering if anyone else is a memebr or goes to any groups that can give me some info on what it's all about, from a personal point of view.
Do they do things like helping get cheap uk holidays for groups of lone parents and days out etc or is is just like a parent and child group?
I'm a lone parent and my only friends either havent got kids or are in relationships so i wanted to mix with more people in the same situation as mine, and thought joining gingerbread would be a good idea.
xx

yes they do, I joined a couple of years ago but didnt go to any meetings but receive regular literature from them, you get discounts on days out aswell, and they arrange trips out together.

    good luck

gingerbread is ace for lone parents, get signed up. i did and have never regretted it, and some of the offers are ace, but also the support network you end up building is invaluble.

my dad was a single dad with me and my brother, my sister and younger brother lived with my mum. it was great, few of the parents went out with each other, and had parties we went to burnham on sea on holiday once. it was cheap as we where all single parent families. my dad went out with many of the ladies, i made friends with there children i used to meet up every 2 weeks at a local social club, i would recomend.
i will be debt free, i will

I have two friends who met thru gingerbread and are now a delightful family of 6 together.

Sadly they moved away and I lost touch,
