Drain smells after heavy rain?

The drain outside my kitchen that the sink, washing machine and dishwasher all empty into alway smell terribly after heavy rain. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't that the smell seems no back up the pipes and into the kitchen! Everything in the dishwasher smells like a wet dog now :(

I do blast the drain with the hose now and again (which makes it honk too) and tip in bleach or caustic soda but the problem keeps happening. Any ideas?

Trying pouring soda crystals and boiling hot water, it might fix it if its not to bad. If not probably need drain rods probably got lots of fat or other things that block pipes

Check that someone has not taken a shortcut when installing those two appliances - both should drain into the room side (rather than drain side) of a trap. Typically this is done by attaching the drain pipe into the side of an existing trap on a nearby sink. This will prevent smells passing up and into the house.

I've also found that "blasting" drains can make the smell worse, because it destroys all the bugs in one go - so when they return, there is nothing to compete with them and they grow more rapidly.
