Where best to sell my bicycle?
I have a year old Claud Butler bike in excellent condition but I can barely use it anymore because my asthma is getting so bad. Are there any good websites for selling second hand bikes? I'm not sure putting it on ebay is the best thing. Is it worth trying a bike shop that sells second hand bikes?

Bikes do sell well on Ebay.... Women's bikes sell best, because their are less around.
But any bike will sell for a fairly good price.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

To be honest Claud Butler isn't the best bike maker, so don't expect to get to much for it, but sites like Bikeradar have a forum where you can sell bikes and parts, although for a bike of that range, adverts in shop windows/ local press classifieds will probably be best.If at first you don't succeed, maybe bomb disposal isn't the best career choice.0

I would second ebay, I've sold two bikes on ebay with success and I've also bought one successfully.

try gumtree first
its free and local0 -
Ok thanks I'll try both of those
It's about mid-range. It's going to be sat doing nothing if I keep it so whatever I get for it will be a bonus!
Thanks0 -
Research your local cycle clubs and ask them to circulate it to your club members. Remember if you offer £50 or so off your eBay price it won't make any difference as you will end up paying it in eBay fees and paypal fees anyway!
Do a completed listings search on eBay to see what it is worth. I dont really concur that bikes make good money on eBay, some do, but lots do not. I managed to pick up two bikes last year that should have costs me a total of £3000' I paid £900 and both had receipts and were not hot!
Good luck0 -

Good luck
a mid range CB is £250-£300 new
knocking £50 off is quite a chunk of the 2nd hand price0 -
Hi,
Thanks for all your replies, it cost me £250 new but it's going to sit in the garage and rust if I don't sell it because I can't use itNo idea what I'd expect to get for it second hand, hoping for maybe £100.

Maybe have a chat in your friendly local bike shop as well. They might not advertise it but may be willing to buy second hand bikes (particularly if it is in good condition) and either shift it on or keep it as a bike to hire, etc.No trees were killed to send this message, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced. - Neil deGrasse Tyson (@neiltyson)0
