UKPC Parking again !!!

Options
Hello me again, regarding the ukpc debate, I have now received a letter from debt recovery plus ltd, telling me that they now "may" contact a solicitor in order for them to take me to court over this unpaid fine. The costs have now gone from £70 initially to £150 plus. What should I do still ignore the letter ? Thanks

Of course, ignore the whole boring letter-chain of idle threats. It's just one of the letters shown in our top thread - have a look now and see what to look forward to next!

Also keep your eyes on this case where Trading Standards are taking UKPC to Court!

Yesterday it was £70 and today it is £150?

For something they are so sure of, I doubt they will have too much difficulty explaining to the court how the sought fee rose over 100% simply because it was unpaid by a certain date.

Maybe they used a special envelope which they keep their receipt for and it cost them £80.

Please continue to ignore. Debt collectors have no more power than you or I do to extract money from innocent individuals. Yes, the letters are threatening, but that is exactly their aim. PPC-scum resort to scare-tactics to encourage naive victims to cough-up. The truth is that a PPC has absolutely no authority to issue a fine, and their initital charges, whatever they may be, are de facto penalties that bear no relation whatsoever to any purported losses arising out of a breach of contract. THEY HAVE ZERO LEGAL AUTHORITY TO ISSUE SUCH PENALTIES.
UK contract law would provide that if: you parked in a pay&display carpark for 1 hour without paying the stipulated fee of £1, then you caused losses of £1, hence you owe £1. The extortionate figures that a PPC plucks from the air are nothing other than penalties, which bear no relation to actual losses and are ILLEGAL under English Contract Law. Therefore, even if a "case" is referred to a "debt-collection agency", the fact remains that the sums demanded are nothing short of CRIMINAL and ILLEGAL. IGNORE THEM. Debt-collectors have no more power than I do to REQUEST random amounts of money. If I wrote asking you to pay me £100, I trust you wouldn't. So treat these w*****s similarly, and IGNORE THEM.

The only chance we have of ridding society of these criminals is to spread the word about the scam, and their unscrupulous tactics. TELL EVERYONE and continue to ignore. :D

PS Moreton, emphasis on the use of "may".... may, possibly, potentially.... blah, blah whatever. The truth is, PPC's have no legal backbone; all empty threats veiled by official-looking letter-formats and threatening words. They can go screw themselves.....

PPS. UKPC DID NOT ISSUE A FINE. They have no legal authority to do so... they merely claimed you breached some contractual terms and wanted to charge you an extortionate amount for it.

PPC's DO NOT ISSUE FINES. Tell all your friends they are idiots.
