All the numbers divert to one 'station'.

The message now after 8pm is "thank you for calling (no name), our office is now closed, if you'd like to speak to an agent, call such and such time'.

Well that is VERY official isn't it!!! "agents", messages short of company names and most of all, it closes?????

I rang the first number listed and it kicked into the standard Orange answer phone..no greeting just the default Orange answer to leave a message after the tone....so maybe worth a try during office hours :D

You want to go a bit carefully. It may be costing 1p per minute and this might be their plan to recover their "losses"!!! :)

I'm suprised the PPCs haven't set up 0870 numbers let, or even 09 numbers to try and get some extra money from misguided people phoning them up.

Just got a Notice of intended litigation from Graham White but they've got my name wrong - transposed my middle name to my first. Gonna continue to ignore but the phone calls have started and want to know if I can just say that person doesn't live here e.g.Peter George Smith instead of George Peter Smith ( not my real names)

You could, after al you wouldn't be lieing ..but even if you were theycouldn't actually do anything about it.

I still prefer the "debt is denied now stop harassing me " tactic particularly as Roxburgh who are Graham White are already in some difficuilty with the OfT re their licence to trade ..might be worth reminding them of that if you do speak to them.

Thanks - but if it ever came to them or the Court issuing a summons or other such legal paperwork can I ignore/ return unopened on the basis that it isn't me?

there's more chance of being bought a drink by lord lucan (very kind of you m'lord - how's the wife?) than this going to court.

    stop fretting.

if, by some strange quirk of fate, this ended up in front of a beak there's a shedload of advice/support over on pepipoo.

from what I see, PPC's v. occasionally do court and only when they're confident of winning (e.g. the defendant isn't going to turn up). one reason is to extract cash (obviously) but another - and more important - is to 'prove' their effectiveness to prospective clients. it's just a form of !!!!-waving and, sadly, some firms fall for it.

the PPC's are little more than leeches who have spent yrs attaching themselves to the !!!!! of the motoring community and I really hope that one day they try court with me.

gotta go; I've got a tip on a rank outsider in the 2.30 at chepstow (shergar at 25,000,000 - 1, but keep it to yourself).

Harassment is a criminal issue, not civil. Just because you are being harassed does not mean it passes the legal test. Their justification in pursuing a debt is fully acceptable (not the fact the debt may be bogus). Since the CPS will not take instructions from annoyed punters, the best advice it to treat the calls with the contempt they deserve, or change your number for another they don't know.
