    I've been Money Tipped!
Don't waste your time. We went last year and the kids thought our local Santa in Watford Harlequin was far better.

If you want to wait 45 minutes in a queue, with nothing to do except shuffle along, in an overheated shop, for nothing special at the end of it then go to Harrods. Never, ever again.

    Have fun.

    I LOVE harrods grotto

The staff are incredible so helpful and polite.
We always carry our girls in backpacks and they could be rude about them but no, they are lovely.

The tickets have been available to the general public since the 8th?!
You don't have to spend anything to get a harrods card.
And it's not a credit account or anything just an incentive card

for those that have been before, is it worth it? there is a lot of hype so i assume it must be good?!
last year we went to baytree garden centre, queued for 2 hours in the freezing cold, paid a lot of money and to be honest, were disappointed, so are hoping to do better this year!

    Try Thursford, it's excellent

Not according to the official website:

    Black tier
    Spend £10,000 and over 9am, Monday 5th September 2011

    Gold tier
    Spend £5,000 to £9,999 9am, Tuesday 6th September 2011

    Green tier
    Spend £2,000 to £4,999 9am, Wednesday 7th September 2011

    Green tier
    Spend £500 to £1,999 By Friday 9th September 2011

    Green tier
    Spend £0 to £499 By Sunday 18th September 2011

It opens for the general public (ie, people who dont normally shop there) Today.. It appears some Green Tier people have been able to apply for some time now, but this must have been a fault in their system, as I tried earlier in the week and it said come back on 18th.. It worked last night when I tried, but by then all weekend have gone.. And for those of us who work it is difficult to go any other days, unless you live in London.

I have been taking our girls the last couple of years - we make it a nice day out in London (we dont live in London), and to be fair it is a fairly good santa, however this year its not going to happen. :(

No, like I said you have to be a harrods awards card
Holder. You dont have to use it, plenty of people have the cards and don't shop there.
    My sister for example.
And she managed to book a Saturday in December.

I assumed when It said BY the 18th they
Meant they would randomly allow people to book from the 9th (I managed to book on the 10th when I received my email telling me I could book now, not that I was in a rush I wanted a Monday morning lol!) Staggered so the site didn't crash.

SO gutted. I have had the reward card since it came out, and have spent a fair bit within the green tier. I have been eagerly awaiting the email (having had plenty of emails leading up to it), but nothing ever arrived.

I emailed the customer services at lunchtime today and they replied "You have eligibility to book however according to our records however I have just seen that the emails sent out to you have been unsuccessfaully delivered which either means that you have not attached an email account to your harrods account, the email address is invalid, or that for some reason your email provdier is rejecting our emails. The link to book is 'grotto.harrods.com'. If you experience any difficulty in booking please call our grotto direct line on ***************"

All other emails have gotten through, so why not the most important one.

Now when I go to book, all weekends are gone, so we probably can't go, as I am an NHS nurse, and cannot book any time off between now and January due to staff shortages (don't want to take little 'un out of school on weekdays either)

If anyone has 3 tickets for Sunday December 11th (it's my birthday on the 12th, so I know I have no on-calls etc that weekend), and they change their minds/can't go, please, please think of us
