driving in spain!!

I guess it's the same as in the UK, laws are not necessarily what's enforced by the constabulary! The law says GPS devices are not covered by the prohibition, but you can still probably get done for the Spanish equivalent of 'driving without due care and attention'!

Lots of up market cars in spain have sat nav with a screen. I think the chances of you getting hassle for using one are tiny. You do need 2 yellow jackets and the car hire firms dont supply them. Spanish drivers are quite agressive but unlike the UK its limited to verbal or horn sounding. Dont take too much notice of horn sounding its much more frequent than in the uk. Most Spanish drivers dont signal much! Dont be too prompt about stopping at lights which are on the change from green if you have a car on your tail unless you want to be rear ended! Do carry you documents in the car.

Just returned from Christmas in Finestrat. Hired a car from Alicante airport with carjet.co.uk. Very cheap. Main things- they dont get out of the way for you when you are entering the motorway from a slip road. Change for the tolls. And what you think are pedestrianised areas are not always what they seem! Saw someone get run over whilst there!!
