Christmas Break - Prague?

Hi all,

My girlfriend and I are looking at going away for a few days before Christmas and was hoping for some lovely guidance on what hotels are best to stay at? I've been to Prague twice before but always done hostels, which I don't think she would appreciate! Preferably would like to stay in Stare Mesto, Nove Mesto or Josefov areas of the City.

Our budget will be around £400 but could push to £500 for 3 nights, coming back before Christmas Eve. If anyone has any idea's then it would be really appreciated.

My husband and I stayed at the K and K Central Hotel a few years back and it was absolutely amazing. The hotel was stunning, the bed to die for and they even had a breakfast available until 11am (12pm at the weekends) which had the most incredible selection of foods imaginable, including cheesecake and sparkling wine. I would recommend it to anybody

Thank you Poodledoodledo, just checked and what a lovely hotel but unfortunately a bit out of our price range as we need to include flights into the budget. Again thanks for sharing!

Might be worth shopping around, sometimes rooms come up cheaper as a package inc flights.
If not, hope you find something good soon

every time i go to prague i find the food in the 3 star hotels almost uneatable so just get b and b and have a nibble at the breakfast counter

last time i was there i stayed at the duo a 10 minute subway ride from the centre i have also stayed in an apartment but the time you are hitting the place means it wont be cheap

i was thinking of going there for xmas too if i do i will bring this thread up and we can have beer yes?
ps i always go to the backstreet bars mind for best price

I would highly recommend www.pragueresidences.com/ i have stayed with them on 3 occasions and am staying when me and DH go back to Prague in September. I've also recommended them to numerous friends who have stayed with them and enjoyed it.

There are a range of apartment sizes so you'll probably be able to find something to suit your budget.

Looking at this myself,I would look for a hotel and price it up.then goto eadyjetholudays.com as they were advertising the cheapest if you went with them.had q great deal last week for Amsterdam witch I saved around £300 compared to others.also you can get cashback with quidco.

...and very central. Loads of decent places to eat within minutes, especially the Budweiser Budvar Beer Hall just down from Tesco.

Travelled to Prague April this year and stayed at Cloisters Hotel . 10 mins walk Old Town Square, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square. 3 mins to nearest tram stop. Walkable from Metro station if coming from airport.
Hotel 3* , staff very helpful, polite. Spoke good English. Rooms clean, bright. Not ultra luxurious but then who stays in their room!
Good choice of continental breakfast. Defo go there again.
Good reviews, including mine, on Tripadvisor.
