Hello,
I'm traveling to the US soon. I have an Iphone 4 unlocked (from Apple store)
I would like to use my iphone to check the internet while on the go. Maps, twitter, etc... I won't use it to make phone calls.
Can I buy a sim card over there with data on it? or somewhere on ebay or elsewhere before I go so i can top up?
I understand i can use free wi-fi but I need the sim for when there is no wi-fi available.
thanks:D

You can pick up payg sims in drug stores (CVS or Walgraves) or chains like Target or Walmart.
BUT I've never seen any micro sims? I guess you could cut a normal one down, but bear in mind data is more expensive over there.0 -

I can cut the sim but will they work on the Iphone and do they have data?0 -
I've seen sim which included data, but I can't remember how much now.
The sims are sold on cards which list the minutes, texts and data allowance. So you can take a look and see which would be best for you when you get there.0 -
The last time I checked it was something like $20 for the SIM, $2 per day service charge plus call costs. Data was $25 for 500megabytes. I don't know whether it would work in an iPhone (without manually editing carrier settings).0

Yes. The Tmobile and AT&T sims are already data activated for pay per use. However, you can add a data package that suits your need. I know tmobile has the day pass for unlimited data for $1.49/day. AT&T also has data packages. Check the respective sites for more info.0
