I have had a speeding fine from an unmanned camera exceeding 50mph at the A537 near Wildboarclough on the 08/07/2011 at 10:38 & my recorded speed was 57mph but the problem is that I have TWO speeding offences for the same date & same time but one says 57mph & the other says 58mph but has two different reference numbers. I was wondering where I stand with this & if I can get off with it.

    Thanks

    Paul Hoddy

2 different cameras at two different speeds?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

As one who has just completed a Driver Awareness course, may I suggest that you stop speeding.

Congratulations, you have won today's sanctimonious poster of the day award

Not being sanctimonious at all. Just making a statement of facts.
I shall however, be making more of an effort to stick to the speed limits as a result of doing the course. I don't know about the others on the course, but I found it to be very illuminating.
In my opinion, very few drivers would come away without learning something. Apart from the arrogant ones who think they already know it all.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Weird, I did one and learnt next to nothing.

In my opinion, anyone who learns anything significant on one of these things shouldn't be on the road in the first place.

You have just confirmed exactly what I said about arrogant drivers who think they know it all.

I have a clean licence and never been booked at all, but I wish certain people would go on these courses just to learn something, to many people are killed because of arrogance and stupidity.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?
  • I have never been on one of those courses mainly because speed cameras and police cameras are bright yellow I have not got a clue how you could miss them.

However from wat I've been told its mainly just gory pics and facts about how it would be a different story if you where going 5mph slower. However I could be totally wrong.

There are quite a few places where one speed camera is about 100 meters after the 1st one. however if this is not the case the evidence has been disproved to be accurate

Not really. I'm not arrogant and I don't know it all. I just didn't learn much from the course. Sorry, but it's not really my fault...

I actually learned a bit even used some of the tips given to me, I think we can all learn no matter how long we have been driving, but I suppose it depends on who is giving the course as they are all different.

One thing I did learn was how clueless a lot of others on the course were regarding driving!

The one I went on was a 2 hour talk then a two hour drive with an instructor, two people in car each drive for an hour.
One thing the instructor pulled me on was ratcheting the handbrake on he said I should be doing a "silent" application by holding the button in. Fair do's I said but its going to be difficult in my car as it has a foot applied handbrake!:p

As for some people learning nothing, I know someone who was done for speeding getting back to work after a course!:o

I'm sure it's just my arrogance speaking again, but I can well agree with this. I was shocked that hardly anyone on the course knew what the national speed limits are for various types of roads, few could identify features of a 30mph road and even which side to give way to on a roundabout confused some people. I really don't understand how these people passed their test in the first place...
