I 100% agree with your comments one-non-blonde, increasingly as this site is getting bigger we are seeing more incidents of people being greedy. ???

Not really the spirit of this site I think. :(
  • Apologies in advance but I feel a small rant coming on... :-/

I don't know anyone's personal circumstances (Elvis may have bad acne or stretch marks for all we know) but FAAAAAR too often it seems that some people insist on ordering things 'JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE FREE!!' when there are plenty of people out there who could really benefit from these products yet are often denied because of the greed of others.

Full marks for bringing items like these to people's attention but for goodness sake leave them for those that will make good use of them! Go on - be an altruist, start a trend... you know it makes sense! ;D

Don't get me started on incontinence pads and ileostomy bag gelling agents... >:(
What a load of rubbish....I would say more but I am too busy getting freebies. 1a_y_grin.gif

in a funny way its a form of free advertising...how many people would have heard of most of these products otherwise...and the samples are there to encourage people to try new things. i bet plenty of people would pay full price if its any good ......such as the ocean spray...i looked out for white cranberry in sainsburys yesterday as id never heard of it before it was mentioned on this site. it was lovely...and ill keep buying it

all the freebies on the boards are for any member or visitor of this site to take advantage of, i dont think that anyone should have to excuse themselves for taking up the offer, the fact is that 99.9% of these freebies are available on the net for anyone to find, it just happens that some members find them and chose to post them for others as well, without exeption. IMO   :D

I have sent off for a sample for myself and one for my daughter.

My eldest daughter has a bad scar across her wrist (caused by a freak accident one Christmas day, with an open tin can), despite repair and plastic surgery at Frenchay Hospital. Both myself and my middle daughter have a hereditary condition which means we scar severely and easily. Freebies like this give us an idea of whether the product is worth buying, as often the freebie is for a product that is expensive, or more pricey than similar products. Or sometimes they are only available from limited outlets.

I have sent off for alot of freebies from this board, all of which I or my family have used. We have often gone on to buy the product, or made an order from that supplier. We would probabley never heard of alot of the suppliers or some products without this board. I am somewhat offended that the motives of myself and other readers are being called into question. You have no idea of my personal circumstances, as I have no idea of yours.

With regard to the matters of freebies such as incontinence pads. I am only 37, but am incontinent due to medical negligence during my last pregnancy labour. Despite this and despite being entitled to free prescriptions, I have to buy aprox. £25 of pads a month. It is estimated that at least 1 in 4 of all women suffer with some form of urinary incontinence, but is just not talked about. The figure is much higher for the over 60's, both male and female. I have been very grateful for the free samples (and money off vouchers), but the information that was sent with them has been brilliant.

I don't think anyone sends off for lots of freebies that the can't use. That is more likely for the mis-prices and cheap bargains that they sell on (usually e-bay). Most freebies aren't saleable.
