Mupette wouldn't you be annoyed if the boot was on the other foot and your neighbour was twitching the curtains trying to catch you on a 'good day' so they could claim that you were well enough to work?

Why not concentrate on your wedding planning and not on what other people are doing :D

Funny thing is most people on here have assumed i am nosey and a curtain twitcher...

not once have i done this, its them hanging over the fence talking to OH if we are in the garden they come out and start chatting over the fence, if we go out the front to get in the car, out they come hanging over the fence chatting away...

I don't ask them personal questions, they want to tell people.

But hey i guess if you suspect someone is on the fiddle, with the information they willingly supplied with no prompting from me or OH, they i'm getting the vibes on here to leave them be...

We are always told that if you suspect someone is a benefit cheat you should report them, i'm getting the impression here that you are in the wrong for doing so, or just a busybody, nosey curtain twitcher etc.

And in answer to your question Gleeful, If someone did that to me, then fine, upsetting for me, no denying that, People that don't understand what disabilities you have make the assumption that if they can't see what is wrong with you then there must be nothing wrong with you. My own neighbour has already called the council and said i don't look disabled and should be kicked out of my home.

Been there seen that got the t-shirt (well no t-shirt yet but thinking about getting one printed up)

I rang them when i got my MS diagnosis to keep them up to date, no word of a lie, she asked did i want my care needs updated to enclude night time, i said no, as i felt i didn't need the extra care at night, i still feel i don't need the extra care at night...

I don't know what job role she had, i didnt think to ask, all i wanted to do is to ring up and confirm information.

Ah thanks for explaining, yes makes perfect sense - you informed them of a new diagnosis and they were asking if you wanted your care needs reveiwing which would mean they would send another form out ( and put your current award at risk.)

I thought you meant they were upping your award automatically without any input, and had rung to ask if you wanted the extra money, apologies for the confusion.

sorry i'm not even sure what she was asking me, perhaps that's what it was, i did find it strange that they would offer me more money.

When i put the DLA forms in i did state that i was being tested for MS, but had no diagnosis at the time, just fibro and a few related fibro things, and so when i did get the diagnosis i rang to tell them... so my details could be kept up to date.

I thought she was asking if i wanted my care award upped..
Perhaps i wasn't taking in what she was saying at the time, bad day that day.

This is an old thread now and Muppette's case has moved on since then, you would be much better off starting your own thread to get answers relevent to your own situation.

He must be on ESA C (the neighbour) so your reporting it will do nothing, but hey, knock yourself out, it can't do any harm.

I was on ESA and married with my husband working full time. I was on the contributions based side. only reason why I've stopped claiming is because I started Maternity Leave in July.

I have M.E and fibromyalgia, and was claiming DLA & ESA, after a long fight and struggle.

You may have made a mistake there....?

When your maternity leave/smp finishes you may not be eligible for ESA C again. Have you checked this through?

Whilst you are on ML I assume you will be paying class 1 contributions so that should entitle you to ESA C at some point in the future after the ML ends but depending on your work history you may not get it again straight away when ML ends.

You can certainly claim ESA and if you are not allowed to receive payment you can get NI credits and then at some point in the future you should ask about making a new claim to get ESA C payments. You should be careful of the linking rules, as, if your new claim is linked they may have to use the same non qualifying tax years so you won't recieve payment.

But maybe you have already been told it will all be ok to go back on ESA?

excuse me, do you have a problem with someone on the sick????????????????????????????????????

Ok so let me see if i have this right..

mine ESA (IR) will stop when i marry.

neighbour i dont think has worked in a very long time, i think he said he has been on ESA for about 5 years... she doesn't work full time, tbh i think she does cleaning, van pulls up in the evening and she gets in, although they have both been seen to get in may a time. (yes i do think they are on the fiddle, but i don't have substantial proof)

Up until last november (they got married then) i know she claimed as a single mum on IS, but he has lived with her for a few years, he isnt recognised by the council as living there as her ex was still on the rent book, the couple claim it is all sorted and the new husband is now on the rent book. (rubbish)

we know this last bit to be rubbish as we have issues with the fence it is falling down and looking at OH's deeds (home owner) he can see he is not responsible for the fence, the council is... (usual guff no money so we won't come and fix it, and each time OH has mentioned the guy's name, they have no knowledge of him living there.

Ok so i may have issues with the neighbour when i think they are on the fiddle, and with him claiming ESA (i don't believe he should as this dodgy back isnt as bad as he claims, i've seen him hoof things around that a bad back wouldnt allow)

Yes i am disgruntled as next year i will loose my ESA and severe disability money too, we won't be able to claim carer's either, i will only be left with DLA (if this is right and the law they so be it... as people will say i have to live with it, and am at that stage that i want to try and go back to work.. if i can find something that is within my means to cope with.)

But when you know someone is on the fiddle it seems unfair to those who do things the right way.
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.
