Things You Never Thought You Could Sell

Oh my gosh! How could you part with your Sindy dolls? I still have all mine (brunettes and blonds), along with a Pippa doll and a Bionic Woman doll. My Action Woman doll broke the day after I got her, as the elastic band inside her snapped. There was nothing so sad as seeing Action Woman fall in half, and her arms and legs drop off - this may have been 40 years ago, but the memory is clearly vivid!

I admire your bravery in being parted from your old pals.

Hey I'm (just) over 50 now and I don't have any children to hand them down to, plus I don't have the massive storage space that my parents do, so I figured they could find a new home. I was originally just going to take them to the charity shop, but when I looked on eBay and saw what was selling it turned into a mini hobby for a couple of weeks to sort them all out, list them etc.
Who knows where they are now, they have started a new adventure instead of being stuffed in an old suitcase in my parents' loft!
What goes around comes around.....I hope!0 -
We were diging the back garden & found a buried Action Man.
His head had been squished & the string holding him together had perished utterly, but he was clean & a possible lazarus job if someone were so minded.
That I had a bid within 20 minutes of listing surprised the socks off me.0 -

Aw - made me think of Toy Story! They're probably very happy to be being played with

When we bought our house there was a greenhouse taking up a big space in the garden. We offered it around for free and noone wanted it. Put it on ebay, ended up in a bidding war and got £216. The guy came 3 Saturdays in a row to measure and dismantle and was very happy. As we were!0

I sold a wooden play frame a year or so ago, it was lovely but had been in the garden for about 10 years, so was not expecting much, but I got over £200 for it. The best part was the £20+ fees, I did not notice until months later, but my ebay account was still linked to my ex husbands paypal, so he had been paying all my ebay fees until i noticed...Once i realised i did change it, whoops0

Sold a Mathmos lamp which didn't work properly. 18 watchers on eBay - eventually went for about £8 + postage. Buyer messaged to say it had been received and she was happy with it, so smiles all around.
Feels so good to declutter!0 -
Back in the days when I had a desktop, one of the DVD drives broke. bought a replacement on ebay for £5 and thought I'd chance my arm selling the broken one....it sold for £10, so double what I'd just paid for a working one..... and it was bought by the same guy who had just sold me a working one for £5!if i had known then what i know now0

Love all the ideas on here :-) its given me lots of inspiration!
So having a massive clear out of old bits and bobs that I haven't worn, used or openened for at least a year... 9 items on so far - false nails, shoes (new ones - not the old smelly ones yet! Building up the confidence...!), a bar of chanel soap bought for me but never opened... got several watchers and 8 days to go :-)
Next batch on tonight!0 -
My best sell was a metal biscuit tin in the shape of a custard cream - £25.00! Its funny what people consider to be a collectable! Was gonna just chuck it...
I'm speechless. I have such a tin! I bought it from M&S to keep biscuits in... may need to have a rethink now!Unfortunately I've been diagnosed as having brain cancer and am currently undergoing treatment. More details as I get them...0
