We had loads of good quality items for car boot and could have raised a few hundred pounds. However didnt fancy getting up at the crack of dawn and dealing with the great Brit public. In the end we contacted PDSA the animal charity and gave everything to them.

I admire anyone who has the drive to get up for a car boot at silly-o'clock on a Sunday. Personally I couldn't be bothered!

I did one years ago and hated every minute of it! Worst of all were the aggresive hagglers, who got angry when they found they couldn't set the prices!

Never again! If it won't sell on eBay, it goes to a charity shop! ;)

I'm quite firm with my prices until about 10.30am, then I will happily let items go for less. Then when it gets to about 12.30 I put all the higher value items back in the car and fill the table with the crap that will sell for 50p and just should "everything now 50p cos I want to go home" and the table soon gets cleared :)

The annoying thing is, we often come home with more items than we went with as we do some charity carboots/auctions etc, so we get chatting to the people with stalls next to us and they usually donate any left over items to us as they leave lol.

Often wondered what is the reason that car boots start at silly times like 7.00am... Sellers need to be there from 6.00 etc...

I did one last week and was up at 04.30hrs and it was vile lol...

I spent much of the last two decades either starting or finishing work at that time...

I go either very early or very late.

Late has advantages as prices start to drop then, especially bigger items

Early and you have a chance of getting that Faberge cigarette case for a fiver (slim chance admittedly).

I think this last one is why they start very early as the serious buyers go then.
