    Buttermilk :)

It's not as boring as beige/magnolia, and not in your face, and it's a nice warm colour.

If you paint all the walls a neutral colour then you can accessorise with whatever colour you choose and then when you want a change, just change the accessories (cushions, bedding, towels etc) and you have a complete new look without the drawback of re-painting

    Have to agree:)

  • I would definitely go for neutrals. I used Dulux Sandy Beach in my last house. Its similar/almost identical to Buttermilk, a little less yellow though (more sand coloured).

Perhaps would do for the lounge/bathroom, with a bolder neutral for the bedroom?

  • Thanks for the replies, liking the buttermilk colour, might have to use that in my kitchen (and probably use it elsewhere) but neutral colours is good.

Sandy beach will def be for my bathroom :D

    Thanks

I keep hearing this but IMO the accessories are the really expensive part. I tend to buy neutral accessories and go a bit wild with the paint - it is much cheaper.

An online discussion among some painters reveals the fact that the top choices among customers are natural hessian and natural calico. By the way, I guess you have Dulux? I have to admit that a pale brown is my choice. White is too clinical, and magnolia is so yesterday darling (:D), so beige it is, errr, sorry I mean natural hessian.

I was recently looking at houses with a view to buy, and anything neutral was fine, even magnolia, but strong colours were a complete turn off.

Most of my house is painted with Dulux Shodowplay, its a really creamy very pale cappuccino colour. Its warm but also quite bright, but still very neutral.
