There are several long standing inventions that have been used by countless generations in order to keep track of how much money they have

    /1/ Notebook and pencil
    /2/ Cash

Have either of these been considered?

Perhaps what we really need is a return to a pure cash economy since so many people seem completely unable to take responsibility for their money; keep it all under the bed and you know where you are. Alternatively perhaps your son should consider getting rid of his debit card so the nasty bank can't prey on him; or possibly you now need to accept that now he is old enough to go to war he is old enough to manage a bank account. We all made mistake at 18, but we didn't all expect someone else to pay for them.
  • i agree, why dont you get your son to withdraw enough cash for his meals every few days/week and then he will not be able to spend what he doesnt have?
