You can complain to the original lender and/or the credit reference agency. They have eight weeks to respond. If they fail to do so, or the response is unsatisfactory, you can take the matter to the Financial Ombudsman Service (free)0

I would do just that. My Mrs works for one of the big CRA's and they can remove the default from your file if you can provide them with sufficient proof the data is inaccurate. This thread and others like it seem very concerning that a lender is wrongly reporting defaults on people's credit files and the impact they can have on someone's financial future.
I would write a strongly worded letter to quickquid and if that doesn't work take it up with the FSA!0 -
You will need to raise a notice of correction with callcredit. Pay day loans companies will have access to a 'closed user group' called SHARE, the other two UK CRA's use INSIGHT & KEYS
Because callcredit is UK only, they could potentially feed false data into their own database to say, we can find data that the other worldwide CRA's can not.
There is no problem with your situation because you could provide a Insight & Keys credit report to challenge the SHARE result. If you have the default on all three databases it would be the loans company feeding false data into the closed user group, if it is only on SHARE then Callcredit probably put it in themselves the crafty b45tards. In 2010 Callcredit was listing adolph hitler and nelosn mandella as living in london!!! One of their resellers got busted and was a big deal in UK papers, callcredit was so lucky the papers did not have the capacity to know who actually gave Creditsafe (reseller) the data that was being used. Creditsafe could not disclose Callcredits name as they have a non disclosure agreement in place :-)0 -
Hi - I just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone managed to make any progress with removing these incorrect defaults from their files?
I have also noticed a default on my file from Quickquid, which relates to a loan I never had, taken out at least a year before I had even heard of the company. It's a worrying pattern...
Has anyone else experienced this, or had success resolving it? Thanks.0 -
I noticed Quickquid placed 2 defaults on my account dated May and June 2010 when i never defaulted on their loan.:mad::mad:
I just can't understand how a company can be irresponsible to post inaccurate information on people's files. It can wreck lives.
Has anyone succeeded in getting Quickquid to remove these ''nasties'' from their reports?. If so, did you take it up with Call Credit or Quickquid?
I will never ever ever ever use these companies (I stopped long back then anyway) and advise people to be wary of Quickquid and actually check their Call Credit reports.0 -
I've taken up some complaints with CallCredit via Noddle before because of stuff on my history and they've got in-touch with the companies and had my file corrected, the longest one was a Nationwide default which they had marked as Partial settled when I paid it in full, took Noddle 3 weeks to reply saying Nationwide have agreed to correct it to fully settled.0

Hello All, yes I'd like to report back that I had success getting these removed from my Call Credit file!
It took a little time, but to be fair to QuickQuid, when I raised it with them and presented the evidence (including screenshots from my online account with them and from my credit report) they did sort it out for me. I also flagged it with Call Credit, and the entries were removed within a matter of weeks. It doesn't make much difference to my credit file as it's in tatters already, but it's the principle!
I would recommend emailing them which seemed to get a response quite quickly. I didn't use a template letter, I just put something together pointing out the discrepancies and instructing them to rectify it as soon as possible. They obviously took it seriously as they also asked me to report any suspected fraud to them and Call Credit directly.
Just be persistent and spell it out clearly to them!LBM February 2011
Total Debt at LBM = £9,726
Current Debt = £2,267
Cleared = £7,459 (76%)0 -

Thanks for the feedback. I have wrote to Quickquid as well as calling them and the guy i spoke to simply said give us a few days and we will get back to you. I will also write a letter to Call Credit to do something about this nonsense.
I am upset big time because it's bad enough in the first place to end up having pay day loans on a credit file but a default from them only worsens matters.
I will update as soon as they respond......0 -
An update:
Quickquid have replied the email i sent last night apologising for the wrong default entries and said that they will get them removed from my Call Credit report.....0
