Quickquid posting successive defaults against me with Call Credit

I was delighted today to be selected for the next phased roll out of Noodle (giving me the ablility to check my credit file with Call Credit free of charge).
I currently pay for my Experian informatio through creditexpert and thought this might be a good way to ditch paying for this service.
Having reviewed what Call Credit hold on me, it shows a default of a QuickQuid loan 4 months in a row and that it is still not satisfied. This is complete rubbish as the loan was paid as agreed on time, I have had no letters or information from them to state that was not the case.
I have emailed Noodle but have yet to get a response. I called into Quickquid and spoke to someone there that said they would prepare an email to send to the correct department and someone 'may' call me in the next few days. I really don't want to have to go down the notice of correction route and prefer to have this resolved properly by these entries being removed.
Is it little wonder that my recent balance transfer deal for a credit card was refused. Previously I had very good standing and my experian file seemed to reflect that but they didn't list Quickquid loans so I was blistfully unaware.
I'd say to anyone and in hindsight to just avoid payday loans if at all possible and not just for the reason they are incredibly expensive.
Does anyone know who's responsibility to investigate the issue and make amends? Should it be Quickquid or Call Credit or both? If anyone has any other advice, I'd be more than happy to hear it.

    Hi there,

I have used quick quid a few times previously and paid the loan off each time.

I was curious after your comments, so bought my report from Call Credit.

I too have 2 defaulted loans, 3 months of Df then DA. Settled the same day the default was issued.

Interestingly, the dates for the loans are over a year before I ever used them and are for amounts I never borrowed. This leaves me to believe they are in fact not even for an account I own as the reference of the loan is the last 4 digits of the card used to pay and the numbers do not belong to any card I have had.

They have a complaints email address, which I will be using, as I think that's why I couldn't get an overdraft.

I will be looking to get them removed and for compensation.

Maybe you should try emailing the complaints email, as they also describe the complaints process there.

Is it wrong to think that they probably do this on purpose so you have little option to go back to them when you cannot get a loan else where?

Or am I just being an old cynic?

I dunno about 'wrong' but they may see it as slanderous if you're not careful about how and where you 'think' that in public.

Turns out they have registered 3 default in 2008 and I didn't use them until Christmas last year which was my first time.
In addition, they have held static balances for 3 and 4 months at a time with no 'Satisfied' status and a balance still showing.
These people should not be allowed to post to Credit Reference Agencies if they are going to post inaccurate data.
This has probably denied me the opportunity to balance transfer my credit card and in addition could have an impact on my job as I work in Financial Services and have periodic work credit checks done (1 per quarter) which could in turn end my career with the employer I work for.
If you have used a payday loan company, please check your files, you never know what might be lurking there (3 entries from QQ and all wrong).

Hopefully others will take my warning and check their file too. Just goes to show, we could all end up being unaware of what has been logged against us.
Best of luck getting a response out of Quick Quid, they only seem to act quickly when giving you money or taking the rug from under your feet.
I am just wondering if it is worth writing to the Information Commissioner or reporting them to some other regulatory body.

No doubt it is worth reporting them, but I think it will look better after going through quick quids complaint process. I'll be doing that early sept when I get chance to get my info together. Will report progress on this thread.

    Wish me luck!

    Update:
Spoke to various members from Quick Quid. They have admitted that there are anomolies but are unwilling to make amends. Their suggestion was to contact Call Credit and they would solve the issue. If these companies can place potentially damaging and incorrect information to the Credit Reference Agencies, there should be some sort of process to put it right.
Now I am looking for further advice as to what I can do to get this resolved. I will never use this firm again and I encourage any reader to do the same or you may have to pay the same price as I have.

Complain in writing or via email. What they say on the phone they may not be confident to put in writing.
Next step after that would be FOS and information commissioner I expect and maybe OFT

  • I've just posted a similar story and someone pointed me to this thread:

Has anyone here had any luck so far getting the incorrect information removed? I wondered whether there is an official template letter to send to these companies to get wrong information removed from CR files. Otherwise I'm just going to email them and see what happens.
