It didn't take long to find out. It seems that a broken seal isn't the only reason why windows mist up. There's a compound in the strip surrounding the double glazed unit (this much I knew). It is there to absorb moisture. After time it becomes saturated and unable to perform. I believe this is the case with my windows.
