Sky Remote Code

Options
I am having a problem with a new genuine Sky remote - setting it up for my TV (a Sony KV-28HX15U) - an extremely common model - "WEGA / Trinitron"
When I try 0000 (the recommended code) - the TV works, but I lose some of the sky functions (such as INTERACTIVE, TV GUIDE, BOX OFFICE and SERVICES) - I checked on interactive (using my old remote) and the setup facility does not even mention my Sony model
Any suggestions / advice ?

Did you remember to press the SKY button to make the remote to revert to controlling the Sky box?

yes I did - the problem appears to be lack of "feedback" from the box to the remote - I assume that the Sky Box is supposed to send a signal back ?
because the remote does not blink back when it is supposed to
The remote is a version 8 by the way.....

No, there is no signal back from the Sky box, its a simple one way IR signal.

Just to confirm you need to use a different Sky remote depending on whether you have a standard or Sky plus box.

BTW The code for your TV is either:-

    1779 , 1533, 1679

    I asked Sky - they said 0533 - which didn't work either

I'd take the batteries out of the remote and leave it for an hour before putting them back then check it works the Sky box functions before reprogramming it for the TV again, thought you were using 0000 as a code?

PS I think 0000 and 0533 are codes for Bravia LCD TVs, not the old trinitrons but I may be wrong.
