Returning an Xbox360 - what are my rights?

When I tried playing through XBOX Live I too suffered from terrible lag. Apparently you need to change some of the settings on your router, for example assigning the XBOX a fixed IP address and then placing that IP address outside the DMZ. That should improve performance no end.
Alternatively have a search on google for "xbox 360" and lag and you should find some useful answers.0 -
No problems with lag on any of the games I've played online. Pro Evo included.
Mine is connected directly to my router with the appropriate ports forwarded. I use a premium internet provider (Zen) as you get what you pay for and they've been perfect.
As for the return. I'd say no chance. I doubt there are any warranties for online play.0 -
I also have pro evo on xbox 360, i dont suffer from lag at all!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

I've got a 6Mb Broadband from NTl - which has always been excellent. If I downloaded Torrents (only if....) then I would get 490 kbps flatlining as I download so I don't think it is that.
I'll look into port forwarding and fixed Ip addressing, currently I am DHCP'ing.0 -
You can take it back to Gamestation, but they will only give you a credit note. They dont refund but only exchance within a 7-10 day period. This is why I hardly ever buy from Gamestation. Game is the best, they refund with no questions asked. Goodluck mate.0

Any lag on Xbox Live is down to your ISP and whatever settings you have on.
Game may exchange the title, but the machine is yours and working fine.Debt Free Wannabee - Updated 13/08/2007

By the sounds of it you are also getting lag on your PC as well....Have you contacted your ISP to ask if they throttle certain ports?? (Matrixonline used to use ports my ISP throttled but while I was beta testing it they opened them for me). With some games you can change the ports... As others have mentioned your router could be at fault as well as using WEP (there is a slight slowdown using WEP encryption). There are many things to test including pinging the servers from the config page in your router might help trace the fault..wildey_saver wrote:The primary reason is that I'm very unimpressed by the online gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer and some of the other games - if I had wanted lag I would stick to my PC !! It's just not up to the quality I thought it would be.0 -
From reading various game sites XBox Live appears to have a great reputation from gamers so as suggested it could be the lag is caused by your internet connection.0
