Thanks for the bath cleaning tip!!

...as for anything to put on your body - organic is the way. Use what's around you i.e. fruit, flowers, vegetables, grains....
There's nothing better than olive oil soap ;) This post just goes to show that they don't give a monkies about what it does to us!

a few years ago i got a lavender gift set for christmas - the packaging was lovely - but i hate lavender - the shower gel and bubble bath sat in my bathroom looking pretty untill the colour began to fade and was then used to clean the bathroom - it worked a treat!!

I bought some of the Tesco value shower gel, it works a treat. I also use any unwanted bath products to clean the loo, waste not want not.

  • I'd normally find this kind of soap in our indoor market.
Or an ironmongers of they still exist.
Some small shops still like to hold it though.

....or ask on your local Freecycle!! :D

Morrisons used always to sell the simple green bar soap.

Will have a look next time we're there, we also use inappropriate products when they are handy :) 1001 carpet cleaner is excellent on the gas cooker top, takes the grease right off in literally one wipe, and I'm pretty certain there isn't any difference between shower gel and hair & body gel, it does your hair just fine whatever it says on the package.

Do not wash your hair with "Shield" though, oh boy, I thought it was all going to snap off, it felt like barbed wire. Strip that oil coat!

  • This sounds fantastic, and I too will try it on the grouting! Does anyone know where to find the good, old fashioned, green soap bar. Sometimes called Fairy, Sunlight or Household soap. It is pure soap and much better for getting stains out if you rub before putting in the washing machine.:(

They stopped making Fairy Green Household Soap in 2009. There's an eBay store that still has a supply of it but it's expensive stuff now! A quick search on eBay for "fairy household soap" will bring it up. The eBay store is called "Hard-2-Find-Store"
