What do you plan on doing when/if they do not respond ?"The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

If I drop my dog off at a kennels while on holiday, I don't expect to be given a different/alternative mutt when I get back because they've 'lost' him. I don't see that a cat or dog or horse is any different to a reptile - you can't be offered a 'replacement' and that's it. The pet shop offered a 'boarding' facility/service, disposed of the OP's property, and must surely be in breach of contract. Also sounds like they're giving the OP the runaround, they should be busting a gut trying to recover the reptile and avoid being sued. Instead she's doing all the chasing.0

It could be that your beardie was worth more spesh if it was a desirable hypo. He could of sold it and then is now trying to fob you off with another one. Was you beardie a hypo? and what sex was it?£844/£22,774.31 debt to pay
£21,930.31 left to pay!:(0 -

Saw this in an advert for a new documentary. They are really good and help find pets that have gone missing or been stolen. Maybe you could give them a call. As i am a newbie i have had to put a space between www. and pet. Hope this helps.£844/£22,774.31 debt to pay

I would give them 14 days to return YOUR bearded dragon, otherwise you will be contacting the media and local papers to run an article on their business practices, and the fact that they even dared to suggest a replacement!!
I presume reputation means a lot to their shop, so hopefully they have the sense to comply!Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Ye, thats a fair point. I was assuming he would have filled in a job sheet/invoice which would form part of their accounts.3110tracey wrote: »Thanks for all of your advice I think I will send them a letter tomorrow stating that they have breached the contract I had with them and give them 7 days to respond.
Before you start firing off letters, you first need to decide what you want from this otherwise there is no point sending it.
If they no longer have the customers details and are unable to get your one back, what will you accept by way of remedy? You need to be clear about your demands otherwise the letter is simply a rant.0 -
TBH I'm a bit concerned that they just gave you this person's number as well - assuming this customer is an innocent recipient of an incorrect reptile, there is no way their phone number should be given out willy nilly to anyone who asks for it. It sounds like this shop are guilty of poor practice all round, so I agree with the above post that you need to decide what you want them to do (within reason of course) and don't let it drop until they at least make some attempt to fix the problem.0

I would usually agree, but sounds to me like the details was given to fob her off, especially with op saying when she tried to call it it wouldn't connect.0 -
and that they'd thrown the customers details away.... except the phone number..0
