Hi,
Can I join please?
I had my first attempt at batch cooking tonight
I only feed myself, but bf pops round a couple of nights a week for dinner.
Monday - Chicken and bacon pasta bake (cooked tonight)
Tuesday - Sausage and mash, carrots and green beans.
Wednesday - Lasagna (cooked tonight)
thursday - Jacket potato, cheese, bacon, green beans.
Friday to Sunday - Visiting family at home.
Can I ask, how do I cook my frozen food?
Tonight I made a lasgnage and a pasta bake, they are in plastic tubs to go in the freezer. When I want to eat it, do I defrost it first? Cook in microwave or in oven? How long? I have an electric oven.
Hope someone can help, I'm a bad cook but trying to improve!0 -
Wow, everyone seems to eat a lot of meat. We have a grocery budget of about £100 a month so we eat a pretty much vegetarian diet!0

Hello All!
Goodness haven't done this for ages- but did a bank statement audit at the weekend and was horrified at how how DH's little "extra spends" were:eek: so am back to meal planning with a vengeance!!! had been really good before- but just fell off the wagon a bit..so this week's menu is:
Monday: Fried Rice- (turkey/lots of veg)
Tuesday: Keema, sauteed green beans and chapatti ( cheating a bit here went to see Mum @ wkend and her a lovely SIL cooked lots of chapattis for my freezer and she cooked loads of keema and is off to france for 2 weeks so sent us home loaded up! - yes I know, I'm spoiled:o:D)
Wednesday: Rougaille (tomato dish), green beans, spiced pumpkin and chapattis
Thursday: Pumpkin, bean & chorizo bake/stew- I'm making this one up got the idea off Mexican food made easy and will be adapting....
Friday: Steak, mixed veg, & Mash
Saturday: Crab Soup & fresh rolls
Sunday: Jerk Chicken and salad
The good thing is that most of of this is things I already have in my freezer/cuppboards so this week's shop was just bread, milk, eggs and yogurts!
Lunches are: fried rice, noodle soup, spanish omlette with salad (x2) filled pasta tossed in some pesto for DH on one day while I use up any of the pumpkin dish in a wrap which I think will be pretty tasty;)
Snacks- multi seed crackers with cheese/deli meats, olives, carrots with hummous, yogurts with a handful of oats/seeds/nuts mixed in.
think it looks ok for a "using stuff up" week! If I do say so myself!;)
