I've used her stuff for years after having very troublesome skin, and i have bought the lads items for my hubby and they were good too.......well worth a go.0

Another thing to put on my list then
Good to hear from someone who lives with someone who has used it.

The Liz Earle stuff is quite good: the cleanse and polish seems to be her best seller, see if you can get a deal on the QVC website with the Liz Earle brand as they seem to be on quite a bit and you can save yourself some cash, you get to return anything you try and don't like within 30 days so its well worth a try IMO (though you do have to pay delivery but free products for 30 days may make this a money saver still!)
Glad to hear your skin sounds like its breathing, sounds like a good thing anyway! I'd not waste your money on mineral water: that sounds more expensive then paying for your own facial! (can be upwards of £50 per hour!!) just use a decent toner and that'll do the same thing.
Despite the gym 5-6 days a week (all cardio, I sweat buckets and yes my face does sweat too!) I only exfoliate once a week if that. It used to be something I did 3 days a week but now just don't and really theres not much difference, I still get complimented on my skin0 -
If you are considering using Dermalogica products check out https://www.beautyflash.co.uk they are great and you can email them and they will suggest product and send samples before you order0

What gets me down with QVC is the P&P. I have also found there is not much difference, and it's sometimes costs more, to deal with QVC rather than going through her own website. LE also has a eBay shop too so it might be a good idea to use that to try one C&P.

Miroslav - Try Superdrug first.
I forgot to add the toner is alcohol free and she always sends you some incense sticks with every order.0 -

I will look into Liz Earle. Thanks. It seems to be getting popular reviews here.
I won't use mineral water then. It would be expensive. I'm using the rosewater toner from Boots at the moment after hearing good things.
I mainly use weights and it's not usually my head/face that sweats the mostalthough it does as I do cardio too. You must be doing something right
How long should I give my current products to work and what should I expect to see? Should spots come to the surface for a while? The blemishes under my eyes about where my cheekbones end cause me concern.Christina1982 wrote: »If you are considering using Dermalogica products check out https://www.beautyflash.co.uk they are great and you can email them and they will suggest product and send samples before you order
Thank you. I will check them out, especially if they give out samples. What gets me down with QVC is the P&P. I'll try Superdrug first and Boots and so on. I'll check their websites and see if they have any offers.
I've just realised the toner from boots isn't alcohol free - alcohol denat which is organic apparently.0 -
I don't know if its my cardio working as much as the lack of air-con in my gym! Its not so great having your face stream though, doesn't mix well with concealer or foundation!!
As for how long to wait, I think maybe this may differ from person to person. Its probably got more to do with the turn-over of skin cells which if aging is anything to go by varies from person to person and is as much to do with genes as it is with age.
I'd expect to see any difference in 10-14 days on my skin. Often if I have a reaction to a product it takes this long to show. Spots which are caused as a result take another week or so to vanish after I have stopped using the product which caused them. Thats me, you may find things work differently for you but I'd give it at least 2 weeks.
Rose toner sounds good, rose is supposed to be great for dry or damaged skin (annoyingly my skin doesn't like rose and gets spots:(). If you can get a sample travel sized pot (they sometimes offer them rather then just the sachets) Kiehl's do a great cucumber toner which is very gentle.0 -

:rotfl: I don't need to worry about concealer and foundation - honest!
Well, i'm 35 and male. Not sure how much either makes a difference as i'm no expert
My skin is alot smoother at the moment and the dryness isn't so bad. A few flakes around my eyebrows the biggest concern. I also shaved last night and I have less little spots from shaving but still redness. Not that sore, so hopefully different products and the tips i've picked up for skincare and shaving are helping already.
I'll go and look for some Kiehl's cucumber toner. I've heard cucumber is a good thing to use.0 -
Ouch!
I've just exfoliated using Neutrogena gentle purifying scrub (looks like i've not said I was using it above)
It was highly recommended so for £4 I thought I would give it a go.
It started burning my face and 20 minutes later I can still feel it slightly. That's not meant to happen right? My face is a little redder than it was but not too bad.
If as I believe, it's not, I need to find a new one already0 -

STOP!! Your skin sounds like its been really sensitised: you really gotta take a step away from the products for a while- or it is going to become painful and you could end up causing yourself scarring if not swelling and more redness/dry skin.
Take everything down a notch: think of it as if your skin were like a child and it got sick: suddenly everything is very pared down, (eating only dried toast and drinking only water/milk instead of the normal x,y and z that they pour down their throats!). Give it a week or two if you can hold yourself to it, allow your skin to recover itself. It sounds like things have gotten really out of balance and maybe just needs you to calm down so it can rectify itself.
Your skin can do alot by itself, yes products can enhance that and in some cases make things better but sometimes it can be better to let your skin take care of itself, despite all the science, there is still nothing better then mother nature IMO!
What your looking for is for your skin to be able to release its own natural oils to protect itself: all the exfoliating and cleansing if its too harsh may have affected the balance and taken all the skins natural reserves of these oils (which sit in the skin itself) so skin becomes dry and therefor can become damaged very easily. Thats why I suggest taking a step back, allowing your skin to get back its own balance and then bringing things back in slowly bit by bit.
(This I have come to the conclusion of at 30 yrs of age- after doing a complete circle it appears I have the same beliefs I had about skincare that I did when I was 18...long after trying multiple products and routines in the years between!)0
