zcrat - I know what you mean about impatience. I think AF should last a day at most (to give us an excuse to stuff our faces with chocolate). Then ov should be the next day, followed by a 2hr wait before testing.

Am sick of all this waiting around. With cycles like these I'll get maybe 6 or 7 chances a year at most - that's just not enough at my age!!

YES!!!!! How do we pass this law???????

(although maybe we could have three days in between AF and OV to get all the necessary s e x in)

zcrat we are one cycle day apart so I know how you feel, am also fed up waiting for OV, even though I usually OV late!

QQ - does sugar delay OV?? That could explain my late OV!!

It does for some people (me:p).
    Especially for those with PCOS.

Thanks - I didn't know that. Will try and cut down on sugar a bit (I have such a sweet tooth, won't be easy...)

I think I am going to give this thing a rest for a bit. I dont think DH is as invested in this as I thought he was, and I feel very alone in this journey. I dont want our child or conception of said child to come at the bottom of the list of more important things in the world like football and computer games and I think our marriage is maybe too young to deal with my frustrations about not getting any at the correct time. I think DH thinks we have all the time in the world, and although I know he's wrong and we barely have another 3 years before it becomes even more difficult than it already is, I think I need a break. So I'm dusting off my dusty diaphragm (haha the thought that I'd actually need it is hilarious) and go back to lurking. Maybe start a savings pot for fertility treatment. I am actually heartbroken, but this isnt going to happen.

I wish all of you good luck in your journeys and will be reading and watching for your BFPs.

TTC 40 - in a way finding out you have blocked tubes is a good thing. That could have been the only thing stopping you getting pregnant and now they know there is a specific problemthey can look to resolve it x

I agree - just wish you could have the standard tests when you want to start TTC & then identify these things so you can deal with them. From my googling last night & the appt with the FS last week, I wouldn't be surprised if he recommends straight to IVF which would be a very big decision to make.

Show him the struggles us older ones are having! Do you have friends with kids? Do you think he's scared about the impact on his life? Would you be able to NTNP & see what happened? Might help for when you do start TTC again as you would be able to tell the GP you had been trying for longer (as long as you sort of had).

Tinkwings, I lurk here and cheer all you ladies on. You are very very talented and I would be interested in buying some of your Bunting. Do you have a website or anything? :o

  • Tinkwings - love seeing your 2ww projects, very inspiring.
    Congratulations Bezzyk!
Codemonkey - what a very difficult decision to make. My DH was not all that interested in starting a family when we first married so we held off ttc, but he got quite broody when our nephew was born nearly 2 years ago and that sparked off ttc!

Not sure whether ov was early this month or yet to come, cycles have never been regular. last month was around cd20 which would be typical if it's the same this month as will be in the middle of DH's shifts (he works away). Seeing the consultant tomorrow so will get our fertilty test results. been playing on my mind all week as these appointments never seem to be good news. oh well, at least it will arm us with more information to try and make sense of it all.
