NatWest removes Payee Details in internet banking - so complain!

Bumped to ask if EarthBoy and/or stclair (or anyone else) will kindly respond to my post #7, please.
I really would appreciate definite confirmation of this. Thanks.
The payee name doesn't matter.
On a CHAPS payment it might. However Faster Payments etc go on the sort code and account number, and the name most likely never leaves the sending bank's systems.
I have several payments set up to my own accounts in the name of the banks they are with, and these have always gone through just fine.urs sinserly,

I've just discovered this "improvement", I think. My son has 2 bank accounts so I'd set up his payee details, and payee reference as follows
payee SONSNAME/OLDACCOUNT payee reference BANKOFMUMANDDAD
payee SONSNAME/NEWACCOUNT payee reference BANKOFMUMANDDAD
Since the improvement, when I go to the pull-down payee list I now see
SONSNAME/BANKOFMUMANDDAD
SONSNAME/BANKOFMUMANDDAD
which is totally useless, of course, because it's not possible to distinguish between the two accounts. One can always look at the View Details, but that's a pain to have to do every time. Is this the same problem the OP is complaining about?
Either way, I've complained to NatWest via their telephone banking, and I'll be getting a letter. I did ask the young lady whether they canvassed opinion from their users before making this "improvement". Apparently not.Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Yes it is drlabman. It wouldn't be too bad if you could change the payee name yourself, but you can't. I've noticed the payments page looks different this morning, perhaps they've listened to comments.0

You're right. It's now back to how it was before.Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, and you’ll get rid of him every weekend.0
