Cat proofing a garden

There is a way to cat proof your garden. Years ago I used to breed/show persians & hence I knew what I was talking about. I say knew because I've forgotten the contact details now. If you contact the GCCF (Governing Council of the Cat Fancy), they can put you onto another organisation (sorry thats what I've forgotten), who can advise & make recommendations on how to secure your cats in your own garden.

From memory - Fencing and then on top of the fencing you do put twilweld, but at an certain degree angle so that it points inwards. The cat/s cannot get out of this & it looks ok too. More importanly its safe for the cat/s and inexpensive to construct. Good luck

We did this in our last house but you have to make sure there are no gaps under hedges or anywhere else or the little blighters will find them.

I was going to argue with you but decided it wasn't worth it... lets agree to differ..
But you couldn't resist a comment all the same :D.
As it turns out I was right in my guess. It seems the OP is being more responsible than many cat owners. Having the neighbourhood cats scrat and foul my garden, stalk, kill and consequently keep away the songbirds etc costs me time and effort in the garden and spoils my quality of life quite substantially. Mrs X next door who is surrounded by her cute furry friends (who however prefer to use my garden as a toilet) doesn't give a stuff. 'Sorry but that's what cats do', she says'. So that's alright then. Not.

Maybe I should dress up in a big bird outfit and go round with a club. Sort of re-dressing the balance :j
