    Good morning patchwork :hello:

So sorry that your post from yesterday didn't receive a reply yet. I promise it was not intentional. Between all if us we do our best and try and reply to everyone as soon as we can. But I guess the guys on this board all have bad days too - especially this week - and so occasionally it might take a little longer to reply than we would like. I am truly sorry hun, but please be assured we do care about you and you are very welcome to post here anytime.

Sound like you've had a tough few days - it often feels like that doesn't it - that everything seems to go wrong at the same time? At least it does for me!:) I guess there's no easy answer as to whether it's the tough times that cause us to feel down or whether it's the underlying depression. I guess my feeling is that if you take a longer view of it, maybe it's possible to see the effects of depression as a more constant feature of how you react to everyday situations, as opposed to the shorter-term reaction to 'knocks' we receive when something doesn't go well for us. Not sure if if that makes any sense for you at all!:o Think I need another cuppa to think straight!:)

How are you today though pc hun? Just wondered have you discussed your feelings with you gp at all?

    Big hugs,
    Sazzy xxxxxxxx

I am so sorry patchwork, of course you are welcome on this board. I have had times when my posts have been ignored and I know that it upsets me too. I guess sometimes we can all be a little into our own problems and come on here for our own agendas, wanting to get over what we need to say and not necessarily supporting / responding to others.

Anyway, I apologise for not responding to you. It is difficult to get the difference between depression and a bad few days. I think the difference is supposed to be if you feel consistently 'down' for over 2 weeks, then it is might be depression. Have you been to your doctor to talk about it? It sounds like you have been having a bad time recently, with lots of things going wrong, so feeling a bit depressed is a natural reaction to that.

Anyway, I hope you feel a bit brighter soon and please don't feel that you are not welcome on this board.

    Hi All!

May I share this with you?...

A friend of mine was told by doctors he was dying of cancer - it had spread
and he had 3-4 weeks to live. So he lived those days with a passion and in a way that most of us don't......with the reality of his death so close.
He called people and made things right. He told people that he loved them. He did all the things he knew he should do to have no regrets. In the end the doctors said they couldn't find any cancer.

'It is not only necessary to love: it is necessary to say so'
    [translated from a French proverb]

    Be encouraged everyone!

After reading that post, I feel quite humble and the post I was going to write seems pointless now.

Hi cif :hello: I don't think it's pointless at all. You're feelings matter just as much, so feel free to post away:) (My dad's from Belfast too, btw!:))

    Love,
