He needs to get real!
Very intense
I just wanted to get away from the bullies, leave school and go to work, I think the whole uni thing is great, but I do wonder sometimes when just soooo many kids are going there........ it can't be right for all of them.

Hi karrie!:hello:
How are you angel?
Thank you for your lovely post hun. Hoping you're ok today karrie. Writing in the coloured ink hun so that my brain cell can find itself while I'm using it.;)

Thank you so much for taking the time to write your story on my behalf. It did bring me to tears and it made me so angry. Setting fire to a child?? I still come back to the same question - why?No child should have to go through what your child went through. Like your son, mine is kind, considerate and polite. His teachers have mentioned this over the years. He put up with bullying in school a few years back and he didn't tell me. I heard it from other mums. I am a single mum and I work. I felt so guilty and felt that I was never there for him. It took me a while to realise wether I worked or not, it would have still happened. I promptly went to the school and it was nipped in the bud.
The sad thing is angel, that as I told DS - you can be bullied for size, weight, colour, glasses, clothing, cleverness - they'll bully anyone not just you son.
As a mum, it broke my heart. I'd been through it myself as a child and I was determined to protect him - which made me feel even more guilty.
I decided at one point after countless calls to the schools, to let it drop and see if that helped because he'd just get bullied worse after they'd been punished. Doesn't work!
I was devastated with what he was going thru but had to put on a strong front for him. All the time in the back of my mind I kept thinking "How much longer can I keep putting him through this?" And that gave me the strength to fight back until the very end. Don't ever get fobbed off hun, and don't back down.;)
These boys are now 10/11 and they are nearly as big as me. And when I have to go and rescue my son (he phones me when he's got a problem) they scare me to death. I physcially shake with anger and with fear.
I know how you felt karrie - me too. What works for some people is to make up a character front. Puff yourself up and go out there with attitude. Try and give an air of being in control. Bullies are like animals - they can sense a weakness or a fear.
He will take the long way round to the local shop "just in case" the bully boys are about. And if they are, he will come home. These boys are allowed to roam the streets at all times of the night. I truly believe that if the parents cared or put a little more effort into their kids, they wouldn't behave like this.
Absolutely agree hun but that would mean interrupting their soap operas or TV shows or being online, whatever. And children don't have much to fear these days as far as punishment is concerned. I know as a child, we were terrified of getting sent to "The Headmaster" for a caning and I'm sure it made some weaker bullies back off!
I haven't slept and have lost weight already. That's when I know the depression is getting bad, when I lose weight. My stomach constantly does somersaults. I hope that I can be as strong as you were. I have written to my local councellor who helped me a few years back regarding a "den" that the bully boys were hanging out in. I have asked that he put in writing that I contacted him and he did help me. I am going to write to my GP tomorrow and ask that he write a note stating that I suffer from depression and have done for many years. I am also going to see his teacher tomorrow - don't know why really. Just want to know his opinion, I guess. Not sure if they are allowed to speak about admissions.
It's good that you're acting hun. As far as any of your sons teachers, they should know because it can affect their school work and they may be able to lighten the load if he's struggling or talk to him if you agree.
He had a football match today and all the other mums were saying they cannot believe he isn't going to the same school as their children. They also gave me some very useful information about 3 children who live outside of the county that have got into the school where my son wants to go.
Mum says not to get down and ill over it all but it's so hard.
Tiff I admire your courage and well done for being such a great mum :T
Whilst my boys problems are no where as severe as what your son went through, it breaks my heart that he could. It would break my heart sending him into battle every day.
Don't blame yourself karrie hun. Just be there for him.;)
How the hell did you, as a mum, cope with all that happened?
Tbh hun, after it all was over with, I'm ashamed to say I had a breakdown. Getting angry instead of afraid helps I guess but for me, I was throwing rules and letters at the school and threatening to contact the education authority and also involving the police, which I did. It's always easier for them to deal with the victim (and move them on) than it is to deal with the bullies!
Also, no school likes bad publicity angel! Another idea is to ask DS who else gets bullied, make contact with their parents and then announce it as a group to your local press and the school.
It IS a crime hun. If any of this happened to an adult like that, there would be charges and jail time. That's what got me through.
I hope this helps angel. Thinking of you.
Much Love,

It's true what beer says cc - they all go through that stage/stages hun. We can't learn the lessons for them, even though we try to protect them.;) To them, we're out of the Ice Age!:D
I just wanted to get away from the bullies, leave school and go to work, I think the whole uni thing is great, but I do wonder sometimes when just soooo many kids are going there........ it can't be right for all of them.
True beer. Having said that, unless a 16 year old gets a job, there are no benefits for them unless they stay in full time education. Really a lot of kids don't have a choice BUT to stay in education, even if it's not for them. At least they have the chance to go.;)
Everyone looks pretty much opposite than what I expected, apart from Tiff who just had to be like that- well I did put out a warning!:o
Why do you expect me to look like that hun? It's out of focus remember! I'll have to see if I can find an in-focus one later.
It's funny the pictures you have of the people you communicate with. They really are a good-looking group of munchkins on here aren't they?:T
