  • Hi all,
    Been looking at the thread for some time and thinking about posting. I'm very low. Wanting to kill myself and so on. Anyway, okay tonight - had 1/2 bottle of wine and okay, but I'm really low. Been having therapy for 6 months for stuff - abuse when I was a kid - and been recently prescribed prozac. I've been umming and ahhing for over a week now. What do I do? Do I take them and feel nothing or do I not take them and feel really mad for how long? I have 2 small kids and my mental state is surely affecting them.
  • Prozac I take it as being fluoextine?

    Tiff will be along with a post that will make you feel better, plus the other guys (waaay too many to mention, hugs to all :) ) are brilliant.

    Ok, prozac are really good, I would recommend taking them, they take anythin g from 2-6 weeks to get into your system, they are hell once you start, but once they begin to work they really chill you out. They really do work, but you must take them as your prescribed dosage! You wont get better by not taking them :)

    Keep on with the therapy, I feel for you being abused, not something ive experienced but you are a tough cookie, certainly for posting on here too, it takes real guts to admit we are suffering!

    Prozac do take time, please start taking them as per the dosage, please avoid alcohol where possible, its a depressant in itself.!!!

    Hi Rachel,welcome to the thread.If the doctor has perscibed Prozac i would take it.Nobody can tell you what to do but the doctor must think it will help.I think you have the wrong idea about ad's they do not make you feal nothing they just make it easier to cope.As ltd said they can take a while to get into your system and you may feal some nausea for the first week or so but it soon wears off.In the meantime if you feal suicidel please ring the samaritans they are there any time day or night.
  • I agree with Gemini, its hell on the first week or so, but ad's have such a stigma attatched (thats wrong, so so wrong) they are there to sort out a chemical imbalance in the brain at the end of the day.
  • I meant to say I rung Morrisons to see if they received all my stuff, they said they had been talking about me just before I rung. They are very very interested but sadly cant do anything because there is a ban on recruitment at the minute, they cant even sneak me in through the back door so to speak because H.O. would notice.

    Nice that they are keen to have me, keen for a career in retail at the minute, even if its giving it a good go until September. Onwards and upwards though, interview at Barclays on Wednesday, I've left ASDA officially, they aint received my notice yet though :( I sent it Friday :( just rung me now to find out where I was :( I hate leaving on bad terms.

    Still, I did everything I could,

    Our son was nicer this evening and rigged up a slingbox for me, so I can watch TV on the laptop from the Skybox.

    All seems OK, just need to get some better sleep, moving to the front room, as the birds are still making a fluttering racket in the mornings.
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    Hi Ethel,lol isn't it hard work washing by hand? i would have never survived in my grandmothers day,no washer,tumbler dryer,vacuum cleaner,the list goes on.Funny enough my grandma worked in her 70's and lived to 89! I once asked her how she got her brasses so shiny"elbow grease dear" she said lol.
