Hi All,
Me and my hubby are planning a week away in October, 15th - 22nd are the dates we are looking at (I think we miss the October half term?)
I was really after a little help for ideas. We are hoping for sunshine, really not too bothered where to go...(have been to egypt, greece, tunisia recently so none of those). Looking to get a holiday for around £400pp all inclusive if possible...Do any of you have any suggestions? I have thought of Turkey but a little worried about whether we would enjoy it there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi there. Yes, this will miss the October half term. How about Tenerife or Cyprus? We've been to both places several times in October and the weather has been lovely (mid 20's and upwards). Both are just over 4 hours flight so not too far to travel for a week.
I can't comment on Turkey as I haven't been there for over 20 years. God that makes me feel old!0 -
Hi k4kate - thanks for your reply. I would definitely look at Cyprus and Tenerife, I think I briefly looked at Cyprus but it was coming in slightly more than we wanted to pay. Would you recommend any particular areas in both places?0

We went to Cyprus in October last year and stayed at the Kefolas Beach Resort on a half board basis.
It was our first time in Cyprus and I would defiantly go back to that hotel.

Considered Madeira?
Nothing wrong with Turkey. Several different destinations to choose from.
Have a look on the discussion forums on Trip Advisor. Antalya (Lara Beach), Bodrum, Fethiye or Calis Beach.0 -
Hi Dave, can I ask how much you paid for Cyprus?
PompeyPete I have just started looking at Madeira...do you know which areas of Turkey are best to consider?0 -
Hi Mrs_b
We paid £350 each, flying from Newcastle (that was for 10 days).
Re Turkey- Fethiye or Calis Beach are both nice, although some of the hotels/ restaurants may be closed then as it is at the end of the holiday season.

If I was you I'd def look at canaries as tends to be about 28c each day. I'm a teacher and we always go oct half term which is the following week. This year we're off to Sharm!0

Once you step outside your AI holiday camp Cyprus starts to get expensive.PompeyPete I have just started looking at Madeira...do you know which areas of Turkey are best to consider?
The areas of Turkey I mentioned. But have a look on Trip Advisor.
Antalya (Lara Beach) is perhaps the easiest AI resort as it's closest to an airport.
Personally, if all I had was a week, then I'd fly EasyJet to Istanbul, and spend my time there. You won't get AI, but what you will get is a few days in a wonderful city, which is easy to navigate by ferry or tram. And there ain't many places that you can hop from one Continent to another in just a few minutes. Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Bosphoros Cruise, East meets West. It's all there, and with a little pre-trip planning is easy peasy.
The Trip Advisor discussion forum for Istanbul is one of the best on Trip Advisor.0
