O2 Blackberry Plan can i use in a different phone

I'm sure you can't do this as you've got a BB bolt on this ties in with Rim's servers and BIS. When I had a BB o2 sim it was a major hassle, I asked them to cancel my BB bolt on and switch it to a normal data bolt on which they said they can do, few days later checked my bill and been charged for using data, called up again, they refunded me for the charges and said they can witch me again, once again charged for data, reason being o2 announced new plans and the old plan wasn't available anymore, in the end I cancelled with 4 months remaining! :mad:Smoke-Free since 15/11/08

I would have though that it depends what the tariff says. If it says 500MB data allowance, it means that regardless of which phone you're using.
I'm with o2 with a BlackBerry and have the "All Rounder for BlackBerry" bolt on.
This has 500MB data allowance.
A BB compresses the data so I'd see my allowance go down quicker, but it would still work.
While I was checking what my tariff was, a popup came up asking me if I wanted to chat to advisor (Esther) - so here is the official line:Spencer Li: I currently have a BlackBerry and have the All Rounder for BlackBerry bolt on
Esther: That's great
Spencer Li: If I were to get an iPhone, would I need to change the bolt on?
Esther: Yes
Spencer Li: So I couldn't use the 500MB in that bolt on?
Esther: You can't use the BB 500 MB data for an iphone, you need a 500MB iPhone Bolt on.
Spencer Li: And if I used another phone?
Spencer Li: e.g. I have my old Nokia
Spencer Li: N96
Esther: Then you'll have to change it to a standard Bolt On.
Esther: Is there anything else I can help you with?
Spencer Li: Thanks
Spencer Li: Can I ask why that is please?!
Esther: Sure
Esther: Its because the iPhone and blackberry have different Bolt On, the normal ones don't work on them
Spencer Li: But if I take my sim out of my BB and put it in the Nokia, it works
Esther: The BB Bolt on works for the normal but the normal Bolt on will never work on the BB
Personally, I think she's chatting rubbish. Would like to know for definite.0 -
