I wonder if Tesco will accept them like they do the Asda price check ones?

I like that Sainsburys will automatically print the coupon for you, and you get it instantly - you could go straight back to the aisles to spend your coupon! :)

Good point!!! Also means that they won't look at you like you made it yourself, like I felt they did at Tescos with the DTD vouchers!!!
  • I've just been looking at the T&C's http://www.sainsburysbm.co.uk/terms-and-conditions.html
just like asda and tesco they compare the whole shop price to determin the voucher value.
and with the example list they give it would be better to shop at asda and get an APG voucher (£2.26 on £22.57-£22.94 shop)

    downsides:
you have to spend £20 or more
voucher only valid for 2 weeks
    £20 voucher limit like tesco

I did a little shop in Mr S yesterday. I spent £23.61 and got back a £3.00 off £30.00 spend and a Brand Match voucher for £2.35.

I did buy mostly branded items.

The plus - you get the voucher immediately, no hassle.

The minus - you have no way of knowing what item(s) have generated the voucher, unless you check all items on mysupermarket or the likes.
The voucher is time bound - mine has to be used by 1.9.11, so not that long.

I had no problems doing this and there was no comment at the tills. However I think the lack of visibility around what generates the voucher would be my main minus.

I think the best way to do this is to do two shops at one time - one with Mr S own brands and then the branded items together, so as the other items don't diminish your moneyback.

Good enough system if you shop in Mr S but I wouldn't be going out of my way to shop there hoping to get lots of money back.
  • I thought I'll bump this up.
Any chance this will be rolled out across the rest of the country? and when?

Taken from Sainsbury's Facebook page -

Say hello to Sainsbury’s Brand Match – a new initiative which launches in store on Wednesday. You do the shopping, we do the maths and if the branded goods in your basket would have been cheaper at Asda or Tesco that day, we’ll give you a money-off coupon for the difference. Find out more http://www.sainsburysbm.co.uk/

This deal i think is only for people who only have sainburys as there supermarket option because you have to buy min of £20 of shopping for it to be checked and then they only give you a coupon to spend the difference in there shop again. For me a lot of the time[ and thanks to this forum]i only run into tescos/asda for the glitches and deals so i wouldnt spend £20 in the first place. What i do hope is that tescos hit back with one of there deals like DTD now that would be good.

I read somewhere that tesco were going to accept the sainsbury vouchers that people receive. I don't know if that is true though or if someone was indulging in wishful thinkingsaletag.jpg How the heck did this sale sign end up in my post?!!!!!!! Weird

frustrating that it won't apply to online shopping, hopefully they will find a way of doing that in future.
