Ryanair - confusing email re. online check-in

I checked in online last week for a flight this Friday, and printed off boarding passes. Today I received an email headed:
IMPORTANT: ONLINE CHECK-IN REMINDER - RYANAIR RESERVATION ******

and reminding me to check in urgently or have to pay £40 per flight per passenger to check in at the airport.

Thinking something must have gone wrong, I've just gone into their website to check in, and it says I am already checked in.

Is it standard practice to send these reminders, whether or not you've already checked in? Got me worried now.

Check-In for your Flight Now

Ryanair’s online check-in service is available from 15 days up to 4 hours prior to your scheduled flight departure time(s). If both your outbound and return flights are within the 15 day period, at the time you check-in online then both boarding passes can be printed simultaneously.

If you do not check-in online you will be required to pay the relevant fee to re-issue your boarding card at the airport.(Euro 40/ GBP 40), This facility is available up to 40 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.

No further changes can be made to passenger names, flight date/times/route once a passenger has checked in online.

To check-in online check-in you must have a valid passport or government issued national ID card. Only the following EEA countries issue National Identity Cards which are acceptable for carriage on Ryanair flights Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland. Also accepted are a valid German Government issued Kinderausweis travel document and a valid Italian Certificato Di Nascita.

PLEASE NOTE: Ryanair DOES NOT ACCEPT driver licences, residence cards, family books, seaman books, a police report (issued in the event of travel document loss/theft), military ID cards etc. Expired or damaged forms of photo-id WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED on any flight.

IRRESPECTIVE of a passenger’s visa requirements, ALL NON EU/EEA citizens must have their online boarding pass checked and stamped at the Ryanair Document Check Desk before going through airport security. In addition, all passengers departing from Moroccan airports must present their Boarding Pass at the local airport check-in facility.

Your valid travel document(as specified as accepted in our General Conditions) matching the details on your boarding pass must be produced for inspection at the boarding gate.

Online check-in can be accessed by clicking the link at the bottom of the page, just retrieve your booking using your reservation number and flight/route details and complete the airport security questions, check-in and print out your boarding passes.

Passengers arriving at an airport with their printed online boarding pass and travel document can either go to the bag drop desk to check-in any baggage bags or if travelling with just one item of cabin baggage they can proceed directly to the security point.
