Yet another fix for something that didn't need fixing.

Probably right on a case by case basis - and I'm surprised Ford (or any manufacturer) have gone down this road as I'm sure they must have sold tens or hundreds of thousands of replacement fuel caps.

I got a little adapter nozzle with my focus that solved the issue of filling up from a jerry can or whatever, was shaped just like a fuel nozzle with a funnel on the end. I'm sure ford will happily sell you a new one at ludicrous cost

Company car, so the amount of hassle and bureaucracy I'd need to go through to get one it just isn't worth it. I just nicked a roll of tape from the supplies cupboard :)

Mine was too but it came straight to me from the lease company rather than through one of the other company offices where they probably remove things like that

Just An Update - I have just found something that looks like a nozzle in the compartment for filling the tank from Jerry Can - but still does not solve the Issue of having a fuel hole with no Cover - I hope ford is not trying to sell me a Lockable cap.

there is no issue, the flap wont open without putting a petrol nozzle in - and on my facelift focus i'm 99% sure the cap locked too, though if they stopped doing this fair enough - nobody is going to nick your unleaded anyway

I am not worried about the unleaded - I am worried about people putting stuff inside - Maybe when i am parked in a dodgy estate :D

On my 10 plate Focus diesel the fuel filler door locks with the central locking.
