How white should our new radiators actually be?!

We are having our new central heating fitted this week, run by a combi gas boiler. The wall radiators are about half fitted so far and I've noticed that they are an off-white sort of colour. Our previous house project entailed fitting new rads about 4 years ago, and I remember that they were crisp white, which matched the eggshell skirting boards (and internal doors) perfectly. These look like they have had about 10 years worth of use and aging!
Just wondered really how much of a case we would have to ask the plumber to change them for whiter versions of the same.....
Any ideas appreciated! Thanks

Most makes that I know of are a grey/white finish.

We've just fitted new radiators and while some that we looked into were finished with no need to paint and are sparkly white, there were many that had a protective zinc oxide 'paint' on them but that would need to be painted once they'd been installed. We chose the ones that were completely painted and are sparkly white. Looking at the old radiators that we took off where they weren't painted (down the back) they are a grey-white which looks OK and liveable with but certainly not a pristine white. It sounds like you may have the sort of radiator to me.

Thanks for the replies. We asked the plumber this morning about his opinion on whiteness of radiators. He maintained that they are all much of a muchness. We'll be sticking with them I guess...

A can of radiator paint will sort it out.

Go to a plumbers mercant or B&Q and look at rads? Compare colour?

If the plumber is palming you off with 2nd hand ones you need to shout loud but it's unlikely.

Unless you specified what type/colour you wanted, you can't really complain, and insisting on switching will cost you.

    Yes, white rad paint...
