Breakfree Holidays Daily mail promotion.

Hi,

I booked a uk break for October for 4 People at Parkdean Mullion using the promotion from the daily mail. which claimed to be £10 per person.

I had the confirmation email of my booking.

Now I have received a letter from parkdean telling me I have an outstanding balance to pay of a further £49

which will double the cost of the 3 night break.

Is this normal ??

It seems a bit of a rip off, and not the cheap deal as advertised.

Dont want to put a downer on your break, but we went there last year with the sun, and no way on this earth would i go back there, they could not even pay me to go there, first problem we had was they new from time of booking we would be taking a 7 month old baby, and as being as it was last week in october chances were it would be chilly at best, and they made us upgrade at a fee of £80 to guarantee a caravan with a heater:eek:, and that was just the beginning , still fuming over the whole holiday now:mad:
Take every day as it comes!!

I don't know if it applies to your dates but it did say on the booking page that extras such as service charges, leisure passes, linen etc would be charged as extra and invoiced at a later date (although some dates were exempt from these extra charges).
  • ive just got back from the last breakfree hols with the daily mail. i went when it was £30 per person per break based on 4 sharing. mine came to a total of £120 plus £2.50 booking fee. i went breydon water near great yarmouth. caravan was lovely, park was abit quieter than other park resorts id been to but enjoyed the break.

ive been thinking of doing this offer aswell as id seen a few parks that i wanted that was £10 per person so think i might read the small print and check with them first

I agree with this - most of the "cheap" deal breaks have these added extras- I think with breakfree you had to open a separate page to work out the costs.

You can have linen hire taken off, and take your own

You can opt out of passes and have the cost removed but you then can't use the pools/bars etc

Rang breakfree today to try and get a refund on the £40 I payed.
They refused & pointed out point 10 of T&c's of promotion.

Do I have a leg to stand on trying to get a refund ?

    Consumer credit ??
I paid via paypal so I have opened a paypal dispute.

    :(

Although it says holidays from £15, if you go on the link posted previously on MSE and put in one of the codes (I used Autumn) there are £10 holidays as I just checked the Isle Of Wight randonly for 2nd April and it comes up as £10 per person (it says linen not included so an extra charge). The extra charges for certain dates/parks are listed on the link posted below the first one.

I've also used daily mail offer to book a break at haven for early october and was wondering how it takes the holiday parks to send a confirmation of the booking.

I've recieved email confirmation from Breakfree but it stated I would get letter in post from Haven with booking details and information on any extra charges but not recieved anything yet

I don't think you do tbh- the extras would have been listed somewhere on the site- I know this as I booked one earlier this year and remember having 2 windows open, and some sites don't have ANY add ons so it is possible to go for £10. Have you phoned the site to see what the extras are for? As i stated earlier, you may be able to get some taken off- gas and electric will be essential though.
