I've also used daily mail offer to book a break at haven for early october and was wondering how it takes the holiday parks to send a confirmation of the booking.
I've recieved email confirmation from Breakfree but it stated I would get letter in post from Haven with booking details and information on any extra charges but not recieved anything yet
Usually within a few weeks, in fact often quicker.0 -
I don't think you will be able to get your money back as it does state the extras on the site. However for your holiday park it seems to work out £37.80 not the £49 bill you have received. This is £6 per night per unit service charges (£24 for 3 nights in total) and £4.95 per person per break for entertainment passes £19.80 for 4 of you. I wonder if the extra is for bed linen? Looking at the terms and conditions on the website page you can cancel the entertainment and linen charges, but then you would not be able to use the swimming pool, bar, evening entertainment etc as they usually ask to see passes on the way in and you would have to take your own bedding. T&Cs copied and pasted below and link showing extra charges made by some Parks.
6. HOLIDAY PAYMENT: Full payment for the holiday is required at the time of booking. Adults & children (infants) are charged at the same rate. Prices are per person per break. Where there are less than four people the minimum charges for four persons per break will be applied. There is no reduction for accommodation only bookings. Linen is available at an extra cost. Online payment must be made by credit or debit card and postal applications by cheque. Online bookings are subject to a £2.50 booking charge.
7. EXTRA CHARGES: Service charges are applied by a number of UK holiday parks to cover the cost of pre-arrival cleaning and preparation of your holiday home. Charges are listed in full on the website and are per unit per night. Gas and electricity is included. Service charges will be charged direct to you by your park in advance of your arrival. Some parks may also charge an additional refundable cleaning/damage waiver deposit.
8. ENTERTAINMENT: UK Parks offer day and evening entertainment programmes and charge for optional Entertainment & Clubroom Passes. Charges are listed in full on the website. Although optional, please note that Entertainment/Clubroom passes may be required for access to facilities such as swimming pools, bars, restaurants, etc.
9. HOLIDAY PARTIES: These are family holidays and bookings cannot be accepted from parties where all persons are under the age of 21. All male and all female parties under the age of 25 cannot be accepted. Bookings are not normally accepted from groups.
10. AMENDMENTS: NO AMENDMENTS can be made by you after your holiday application has been confirmed online or your application received by post. No refunds can be made in the event of cancellation by you after the holiday confirmation has been issued to you in accordance with your application, unless the reason for cancellation is default by the park operator. Cancellation charges apply
