Best ever reduced item bargain?

About the middle of Jan this year. Sainsbury reduced the price of their huuuge blocks of stilton to 20p each and there were loads of them. BBE date was that day. I bought about 10 of them, gave a few away and froze the rest and we are still using them to cook with now

I used to get some bargains in Waitrose, but haven't had any for ages. One of the best was their cooked, sliced turkey, reduced from £4 something to 15p a pack- I'd gone in to get chicken for the dog and bought that instead, only for it to get swiftly confiscated by my mother, deemed far to good for the dog!!
I've also had some amazing bargains from our local coop, but think they might have changed their reduction policy recently0 -
I am so jealous of you all getting such great bargains - in my Tescos, Sainsburys and Waitrose I NEVER seem to find anything reduced past half price and even that is scarce. It doesn't matter what time I go either - I have tried going at all different times!Jane

I rarely leave W'rose without a bargain. Try chatting to staff and having a joke or passing the time of day etc and once they see you are a regular I'm sure they will tell you when the mark downs are done. It seems to vary between stores. Some days are better than others. I am often appologising for stalking, but have a laugh with the SA as we go through everything. I go in for 2 items and leave 30 mins+ later with more than 10 !!!!!!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
It's been ages since I got a really good bargain, I think the last time was a punnet of cherry tomatoes for 5p late one night at Asda. I have a serious case of bargain envy! - but then again, don't eat most of the stuff listed on this thread anyway.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

7pm is optimum time for bargains in my waitrose - the best things are the reduced fresh rolls, they go from 45p to about 9p.

In morrisons yesterday, I picked up 2 packets of reduced ham 39p each.
They were only £1.19 to start with but..
They had BB dates of 31st august and 1st september!

Not a great bargain but Mr.Kitty bought me some fresh salmon stuffed with cheese & tomato for £1 each from ASDA. I'd never buy this for myself but it was soooo nice. Definitely converted and I'll keep my eye out for these now!Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt!

My favourite bargain was 2x duck breasts for 10p from Asda, they were sooo delicious, usually about £5. I also have a drawer in my freezer full of herbs I've collected from Asda reduced to 2p. They always seem to be selling them off
I've also got loads of rolls for 10p a packet which are great for lunches. And on Sunday I got 4 pints of milk from Tesco for 7p. We made loads of lattes to use it up before it went off, yum! 0
