Not recently, but when Sainsbury's used to honour the full price of offers even on reduced stuff I used to get some great bargains.

The best one was sausages reduced from something like £1.99 to 69p. Pretty good.
But they were also on buy-one-get-one-free. And in those days that meant the tills took off the £1.99 original price.
Which meant for each two packs of sausages you bought they gave you 61p.
I got a carrier bag full (didn't even take all of them to give others a chance, but didn't want to leave too many to get thrown away) and a packet of nappies and I paid about 50p in total.

They don't do that now :(

A gammon joint priced at £24.12 for 50p at Sainbury's...

We had it for our big friends and family meal on Christmas Eve. My husband was out of work then so I was very chuffed to have got such a bargain:D

I saw these in the shop today and this reminded me. On New Years' Day, all of the flower bulbs and indoor plants growing kits were down to 1p each! As the display until date was NYE. I bought some indoor bulb plant kits - also down to a penny and were £5 each. The ceramic pots are very nice - metallic colours. Once the plants died, I got some silk flowers in a bargain bin in Wilkinsons for 10p each and cut them down to size. Bought a large bag of glass beads from a £1 shop. So I have 3 silk flower arrangements that cost me about £1.53.
  • Hubby to be went to Asda last week and got a duck to roast for 5p, he was well pleased, especially since when the label was pealed back it revealed a price of £9+... had it with noodles, t'was delicious.. also got a leg of lamb for 50p this week.. that's ASDA Price :D
    "What day is it?"
    "It's today," squeaked Piglet.
    "My favorite day," said Pooh."
  • Last night i got 2 double packs of fresh penne pasta in TESCO for 2p each.there was tons of them left and the staff were trying to make everyone take them!!

Even better on returning home I looked and one pack had been reduced in error and has a display until date of 30th August so isn't stealing my valuable freezer space (only have a tiny icebox :()
  • A whole cooked lobster (not frozen) from Tesco St Rollox for 10p.
